Yeah... my luck's not all that great when it comes to getting sick. I've taken a flu shot every year for who knows how long. And usually, it serves me well. But for the past two years in a row, I've been hit hard by the flu. The reason (excuse) that I hear from my doctor and pharmacist is, "they were off on the type/strain this year."
Who's to say that the vaccine(s) for Covid-19 won't be the same? People will go out, bee-bopping along, thinking that they're safe because they got a shot. And the next thing they know, they're coughing up a lung. I understand that nothing is guaranteed, but I also think that with all the emphasis that the media and others are placing on finding a magic bullet vaccine, a lot of people are going to get a nasty surprise if/when their number comes up when this thing reemerges.
