It's going to depend on the next 4 years. Biden has some heavy expectations, and if he doesn't deliver, the disillusioned will shift over again.With control of both houses (for at least 2 yrs), he's not going to have an excuse if things don't drastically change for the better.
The presidency race wasn't the blowout that everyone expected, and the senate divide is literally as close as it could possibly get. There could also be a great GOP candidate (anyone is going to look better after this) who could appeal to moderates or a whole bunch of other scenarios which could lead control changing in 4 or 8 years.
That's all true, given that you removed my condition of a fair election. Republicans are a minority government that clings to power through manipulations of the electoral system.
But I do agree, Biden's admin has less than 2 years to convince America that they deserve to stay in power, otherwise they lose midterms and the cycle of deadlock starts all over again.
