Ted Cruz warns Texas will be 'hotly contested' in 2020

Sen. Ted Cruz is sounding the alarm on Texas.

During a Christian Science Monitor breakfast on Thursday, Cruz warned that Texas will be “hotly contested” in 2020. He said that while he had confidence his colleague Republican Sen. John Cornyn and President Donald Trump would win the state, both will face a “serious race.”
“I think the Texas election in 2018 is powerful foreshadowing for what to expect across the country in 2020,” Cruz said, referring to his reelection battle against former Rep. Beto O’Rourke. “The Democrats in Texas increased their turnout more than 100 percent.”
Cruz reflected on his own contest against O’Rourke, noting that the Texas Democrat outspent his campaign “3 to 1” and that his Senate race was the most expensive in history. Cruz beat O’Rourke by about 2.6 percentage points.

Cruz further predicted that there will be “record-shattering” Democratic turnout in 2020 and that Republicans will need to turn out other voters.
“The far left is pissed off, they hate the president and that is a powerful motivator,” Cruz said. “If the left shows up in massive numbers and everybody else doesn’t that’s how we end up with an incredibly damaging election.”
Cruz, however, said he wasn't too concerned by the recent wave of Republican retirements in the House, attributing some of them to frustration with being in the minority. At least five Texas Republicans in the House, including Rep. Will Hurd, have said they will not seek reelection in 2020.

Cruz reflected that the party needed to do more to reach out to suburban women, as well as African American voters.
“If we lose Texas, it’s game over,” Cruz said. “I don’t believe Texas will turn blue but central to that is we’re going to have to work to communicate and turn people out.”

During the breakfast, Cruz also warned that going too far on gun control measures could turn away Republican voters motivated by the Second Amendment. Cruz’s remarks come after mass shootings in Texas killed 22 people in El Paso and seven people in Odessa.

That shit stain, sorry excuse for a journalist ... AND Traitor Jorge Ramos asked 100% questions about ILLEGALS.
Mutha fucker should have his citizenship revoked, put in prison for 100 lifetimes. Piss of Shit! :cussing:

This is the United States of America and the debates are regarding the election for President of the USA ... or more precisely, who is going to get to lose against Trump in the election for POTUS. Why the fuck is this asshole 3rd rate journalist wannabe wanting to find out who is going to cater to ILLEGALS the most / the best? He is a disgrace to journalism and to the USA's Citizenship Naturalization process.

I don't care for Biden or any Democrat for that matter, but I didn't care for that asshole Ramos acting as if he was some world-renowned elite attorney in court wanting to corner Biden into admitting right then and there that regarding all those tons of illegals that were deported in the Obama / Biden era ...... COULD Biden admit, "I MADE a MISTAKE." WTF? Go to hell, you fucking treasonous Piss of Shit!

It was good to see that Biden did not give in to that traitor Ramos' cornering attempt. Okay, so maybe Biden SHOULD have admitted that he made a mistake. And the mistake was that he and Obama did not deport every last fucking ILLEGAL in the entire country. :yesyes: :partysml:

It pisses me off that it's already THREE debates gone by and they still keep talking about the same shit over and over and over. Isn't the idea of having multiple debates --- to talk about different topics at every ensuing debate? You've already talked about immigration / ILLEGALS, now assault weapons / shootings and various other shit. MOVE FUCKING ON to something else!

They shouldn't even be allowed to talk about those same old & tired topics in their opening statements. Make it 100% completely NEW topics every ensuing debate ... topics that interest / benefit USA citizens.

Stupid Democrats are going backwards with these debates. The idea is to constantly be weeding out the worthless, unknown, ZERO chance of winning candidates at EVERY debate. This way the candidates that do stand a chance of getting the Democrat nomination can get to speak more in detail in future debates.

But, Nooooooooooooo! I just read the criteria for the 4th debate and EVERY candidate who qualified for the 3rd debate --- automatically qualifies for the 4th debate. AND I believe if you are polling in the 2% range, you're also in. That means that that ambulance chaser attention whore O'Rourke and that pathetic turd Castro will STILL be in the 4th debate. So that means that instead of having LESS candidates for the 4th debate, there will almost assuredly be MORE!

Speaking of needing to be sent to prison ... Dayyyyy-Um! Democrat Candidate Yang sure chewed up the fine line between legal and illegal with his BS deal about giving 10 people $1,000.00 a month for who knows how long if they could prove that they could run the government better than any politician. Or whatever bullshit it was. I can't remember the specifics.

I just remember shaking my head at the audacity of what seemed like pretty much an attempt to BUY VOTES!!!  I don't have the link handy, but I did read somewhere that the DOJ or someone was going to actually look into Yang's pitch to see if it didn't indeed venture into ILLEGAL / vote buying territory.

Progressives Sanders And Warren Lead Democrats In Fundraising, Biden Lags

A clearer picture is emerging of the Democratic primary field's third-quarter fundraising with the first votes to be cast in four months.

The standouts are Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who raised $25.3 million and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, whose campaign revealed she brought in $24.6 million between July and September.
(These numbers are released by the campaigns. Full figures with details of where the money is coming from and if there are any loans to their campaigns are required to be be available through the Federal Election Commission officially by Oct. 15.)

There has been a narrative that Warren is on the rise and passing by Sanders, so Sanders' number was important in showing he retains a strong grassroots coalition behind him — and that he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Warren's number also shows that her campaign is going strong, as she gears up for the fall and the first votes being cast in Iowa. National polls have shown her catching up to former Vice President Joe Biden and leading him narrowly in Iowa.

Biden lagged further behind, raising $15.2 million.

South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg again showed fundraising strength, bringing in $19.1 million. It's a healthy sum but short of what he took in during the second quarter.
Buttigieg has been incredibly popular with the donor base, but he has failed to break through in a meaningful way in the polls as of yet.

Meanwhile, President Trump is outpacing the Democratic field, raking in a whopping $125 million for his campaign, political action committees and the Republican National Committee.
The Democratic candidates are not yet able to coordinate with the Democratic National Committee to raise money. The PACs, party and joint fundraising committees can take in above the $2,800 contribution limit set out by the Federal Election Commission for campaigns.
While that makes it difficult to compare to what the Democrats are raising, it is a reminder of one of the advantages an incumbent president has.

Speaking of Sanders, anyone who would deny that he wasn't fucked out of the Democratic nomination for PREZ in 2016 is in denial. And he probably would have won and been PREZ right now. But that wouldn't have been as good of a soap opera as Trump as PREZ.
He won and should have gotten the nomination but they gave it to her instead.
That is election rigging which means your elections that most of you believe in are fake.
You have no say in who will be elected.
Does anybody deny that he should have gotten the nomination in 2016 based on voter support?
Does anybody deny that they rigged it in favor of Hiliary?

At least one good thing came out of it- It woke up a lot of people to the fact that their vote doesn't mean JACK SQUAT!

So-called anti-semitic congresswomen Ilhan Omar announced yesterday she's endorsing jewish democratic primary candidate Bernie Sanders.

Hmmm... An anti-semitic congresswomen endorsing a jewish candidate... That's odd...
Could it be that we've been lied to about her being anti-semitic ?

This is a purple district so even if he wins the primary this is not gonna be an easy race but Cenk running completely changes the complexion of the campaign. And if Cenk goes to Congress, oh boy, they're not ready for what's coming.
