After watching the entire US-Slovak game I'm convinced we'll be one of the teams to beat. Very solid performance. Only question I have is Quick over Miller.


I was looking at our '06 roster and that one compared to this one is horrible. Just thinking of the players we left home because we were so deep (Ryan, Byfuglien, J and E Johnson, Okposo, Thomas, Bishop, Schneider, Bjugstad, Anderson, etc.). Any of the bottom teams would kill to have just those we left off. No doubt our deepest US hockey team frankly ever.

I agree. I love our size up front and our goaltending. We overwhelmed Slovakia (even Chara looked like a deer in the headlights). We'll see how we stack up against the Russians tomorrow morning. That should prove to be a very good barometer.
