I love watching every Olympics and Sochi is the second Winter Olympics I'm following.
Well that was a close, but definitely deserved win.Dang. Finland putting up a good fight against Canada. 1-1 after 2 periods.
Whew, that was close. Closer than it should have been. I think Canada will struggle against the U.S. and Russia. No guaranteed medal for Canada this year.
It was a fascinating contrast of styles. Canada's forwards are so big and strong....awesome forecheck kept the heat on Rask all game but he was up to the challenge until the final shot. Finland has speed to burn and they really backchecked well....a really good game plan. Even though Canada dominated play there was very little sustained pressure in front of the net for most of the game. A great battle....two really good teams. Congrats to my Canadian friends on the hard-earned victory but we haven't seen the last of Finland yet would be my guess. Can't wait to see the the USA and Canada tangle....high drama for sure. We owe you guys one for making us settle for silver in Vancouver.
By the way, thank GOD for Roku and hockeystreams so I can pick up CBC. NBC was showing god-damned ice-dancing when Canada-Finland was on. Idiotic!
Did you guys happen to watch women Snowboading Cross? WICKED!
I just watched it. It's a riot, watching a bunch of snowboarders come down the hill at the same time. And it's so intense, so many crashes that a race without a crash is an oddity. Fun to watch.
I just loved watching that event. Probably my fav event to watch in all of the Sochi games
Canada's front line is absofuckinglutely under performing. Of their 11 (close?) goals, 6 or 7 have been scored by the defense men. Crosby has something like 2 assists. If the Canadian forward line can start clicking, I think they can go all the way, otherwise they're going to get out-shot like crazy, and in competitions of this sort, those who can put sustained pressure on the goalie are the ones who are going to win.

Evi misses Bronce, but what an incredible race! Bravo
