Jameis Winston made the Academic All-ACC team
I might start to become interested in NCAA mens football and baseketball once the players are considered employees of the school and paid fair market value.

The sorry bastard didn't even offer an apology.
Time for some college football chatter again! Things get started 3 weeks from tomorrow night!!
Another year of Duck heartbreak ahead :1orglaugh
Could start as soon as game 2 this year, vs Michigan State. Hoping the Spartans graduated enough talent on defense that the Ducks will prevail.
UCLA vs Texas @ Texas September 13th should be interesting :fight:
I agree. Some of his changes seem heavy-handed and could backfire. Fans and alumni will be looking for a quick fix. If he doesn't deliver, calls for his head on a pike may come soon. Normally, I would say give the guy some time, but some of his decisions could easily be used as ammunition against him.... What's going on at UT reminds me more of a purge than a regime change....and Strong is brutally leading the charge, wherever it's leading.
This will be an outstanding test of the benefits or liabilities of the coaching methods of Charlie Strong. I'll tell you one thing....if Johnathan Gray and Malcolm Brown can't get it done at RB, the 'Horns are in deep shit since Strong has run Joe Bergeron out of Austin. What's going on at UT reminds me more of a purge than a regime change....and Strong is brutally leading the charge, wherever it's leading. UCLA will surely be in the top 10 when these two tangle at Jerryworld so it could get ugly in a hurry if things don't go right between now and then as "Camp Strong" is underway in full swing as this is being written.

Nick Saban: Liar, liar, pants on fire!
In his latest interview, Saban claims “I had nothing to do with idea of the 10-second rule”, but:
He also cited 2 studies of hurry-up offenses and their impact on player safety, but:
- He was the one who had his cronies in the NCAA sneak the item onto the agenda.
- He was the one who snuck off to the meeting of the Football Rules Committee and made a speech (plea).
He also praised the NFL for allowing its officials to control the pace of the game, not coaches, so the officials could remove any competitive imbalance created by the pace of play.
- The first study he cited never existed. He just pulled that out of his ass.
- The second study he referred to was done by 1 school for their 2003 season and only dealt with concussions.
- Are you fucking kidding me! - If a team can't compete, they should either drop to a lower division, or just STOP playing football!
So what you're saying is - Alabama is a nobody.
It certainly helps when the head of the NCAA is Saban's best friend and the head of the enforcement committee is a Bama grad.. During the seven years Saban has served as head football coach, Alabama has compiled an overall official record of 74[a]–15 (.831) (79–15 on the field), seven bowl game appearances with five victories, three SEC Western Division championships, two SEC championships, and three national championships. PRETTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE ..................
