Well, congratulations Ohio State

It appears I never will see Oregon win a national championship in football. But such is life.

At least I still have my Ducks unitard, and my little duck shopping bag lol

(which reminds me, the Ducks should have worn green! not that I'm all that superstitious, but you just don't mess with that shit)

bodie they should have won. they shit the bed tonight

They came out looking so strong, but those two dropped passes early on really did swing the momentum, big time.
Still, OSU went on to turn the the ball over 4 times after that, so the Ducks had plenty of chances. Oh well :(

Also, Oregon was just 2 for 12 on 3rd down conversions.
OSU stuffed Alabama in those same situations (2 for 13) in the semi final game.

Thank you, Doctor sir. As usual you are correct, my amigo.
I thought of you as, with 8 minutes remaining in the game, I donned black socks in mourning.

Perhaps you could give me an assignment of some sort to take my mind off my grief. Maybe your office has some asbestos ceiling tiles I could scape?

-If any coach can figure out a way to slow Oregon down, it's Urban Meyer. Count the Buckeyes out at your own peril.

I saw his reaction after the game and being told what Oregon won by. It was all feigned. He's not worried in the least.

Yeah, don't count the Buckeyes out.

Ohio State worried me, to do what they did against Wisconsin and Alabama with their 3rd string QB. I've always liked and will root for the high speed/low drag, porsche 911 turbo charged offenses like Oregon's - they're damn fun to watch. But this is still football and brute force will win out more often than not. Cardale Jones is a freakin' tank, man. And what do you say about Zeke Elliott? Congrats Buckeyes. Your team is f'n awesome. And Urban Meyer has to be in the pantheon of legendary college football coaches.

When Urban Meyer was hired, I knew he'd transform the old mentality of OSU football and most likely build a contender, but I figured he was at least year away from that. This year, I didn't think he could keep up with the speed of Oregon, but he found a way, so :hatsoff:

Obviously, this shows the playoff was a raging success. So, how long before they try to build on that success by expanding to 6 or 8? They could schedule a couple of the games just before, or after Christmas, and with school being out for the holidays, none of the players would miss any more classes than they already miss.

I was one of the ones who was resistant towards a playoffs. I always thought 1A college football had the best regular season in all of sports with a flawed BCS or what was prior to that being the trade off. But yeah, this inaugural playoff was great for the sport and there's no looking back. I think a 6 team field would be the sweet spot which would give the the #1 and #2 seeds a first round bye which keeps that urgency in the regular season to finish in the top 2.

And the 6-5 teams still have their Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Great Game! Oregon sure looked ready, but couldn't capitalize on all the turnovers though. The Ducks will be back in the show again too much talent and great recruiting. GO BUCKS!

"3rd String QB"

That's got to be the story of the year in NCAA football, right?
I mean, a week before the conference championship games the playoff selection committee was openly set against including Ohio State due to QB injuries. When Mississippi State lost their second game TCU jumped into the final four for one week. But then the 3rd stringer led OSU to a 59 to nothing victory over Wisconsin in the big 10 championship game and the committee changed their minds. Follow that up with victories over Alabama and Oregon and yeah Cardale Jones has got to be the story of the year.
Talk about seeming disaster turning to gold: I really wonder if OSU would have conquered all with quarterbacks 1 or 2, and tend to think not. They seemed to jump to a whole new level with QB 3.

Ohio State will be in a strange situation in that all 3 of those quarterbacks could return.

The talk going among the sports analysts is that Cardale Jones did a great job even though he truly didn't know the OSU offense, and Urban Meyer will have to give him the opportunity to beat out Miller and Barrett. No matter what happened thru this season, I think Miller is the front-runner if he is healthy.

So, a lot of people are saying that Urban is in a great position. Virtually everyone is coming back, and he has 3 Heisman-caliber quarterbacks. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 came back, but I would be surprised if all 3 stayed at OSU. How can both Barrett and Jones consider staying (with Miller) when the possibility of going pro is on the table. Think about this; if all 3 came back and Miller wins the job and has no injuries, that leaves Barrett and Jones in the position of not showing the scouts what they can do. That's a real shitty draft position to put yourself in, so one of them may consider a transfer. Oregon will be looking for a new QB, and they might even think about competing for a spot on TCU, or Baylor!

Auburn too will be searching now that we got rid of Marshall's no-throwing ass!

Oh, the drama...

Yep, this situation does make for some interesting possibilities...

I was the best coaching i have seen on The Bucks. I was really worried about the game. Mariota is a machine in skills with great WR and a very capable backfield. I think he will make a great qb in the right system and is a class act with a great work ethic. I think with the QB issue at Columbus, let them work on the practice field and decide. JT Barrett is still the best balance in my book, skills in the pocket, escapability with the run with decent long ball skills.

I was very happy to take my step son to his first game in the shoe and also got to take my wife to her first game against that school up north this season.

Go Bucks!
