UCLA :baconsalt:

Interesting - this is the fifth time in a row UCLA has lost their game the week prior to playing Oregon.

And indeed they didn't look focused much of the game. Given another 30 seconds they'd have probably pulled this one off, but playing the first 3 quarters without much intensity came back to bite them (deservedly) in the ass.

Well, Mississippi State vs Auburn next week is a HUGE game now (who'd a thunk it?), and should be a really good one.

After yesterday, both Mississippi teams should end up in the top 10, and one of the announcers yesterday had an interesting fact.

When was the last time Ole Miss and Miss St were both ranked in the top 10 at the same time? --- ANSWER: Never.

Anyhow, as for Notre Dame, I absolutely hate that team and revel in them getting clobbered, but FSU (and Winston) need a dose of reality. I'd like to see a close one there, but like you, I think FSU is gonna spank them silly.

Miss St-Auburn, but also Baylor-TCU, & Ole Miss-Texas A&M next week, so a couple more undefeateds will go down, & the games are getting better.

hummm just seen bama only 6 points over ole miss? did anyone see ole miss and Memphis last week? i just seen a replay. this game has sucker bet wrote all over it. if bama wins two touchdowns vegas will lose a bundle. i realize what if and should have aint worth a sh-t. but dont look for bama to turn the ball over 4 times in the next twenty games. when you turn the ball over 4 times you are pegged to get beat. over 600 yds offense and they dont think they will fair well with a team that memphis had on the ropes 3 qtrs. you guys leave this one alone. it is messed up as a football bat.

bodie i hope you didnt do what you said you were going to? i knew this game was hoax from the very get go. hold on to your hats. lot of football left to play yet. imagine if you will......miss st NC.........

So this weekend and all the shakeups mean my hawkeyes will be ranked in the top ten now. I'm not certain about this but I have a good feeling.

I was surprised TCU jumped as high as they did, and Baylor is next. Normally, I'd say TCU would have no chance, but with Petty hurt, and rest of the team not playing at their best, that game could be interesting.

God I was hoping Alabama would win. Fox News is gonna suck tomorrow at noon. He probably sucked 'em all off in the locker room. He's an Old Miss himself.

It will be real interesting to see what Paul Finebaum has to say. I'm gonna set the DVR to record his show tomorrow on the SEC Network.

He'll find some reason to sugar coat UA's lost as he always does. The guy is a complete UA fan and a big jerk majority of the time. His sidekick John is just as big of a douche as Paul is.

In the Auburn game, Auburn had scored on their first 3 possessions and was driving for 4 in a row when something happened that is becoming all too common against fast paced offenses. Someone on defense just lays down in the middle of the field and fakes an injury. When this happens, the defense can take a breather and their coach can bring in substitute players.

This is something that really pisses me off, but what can you do? You can't give a delay of game penalty as an injury might be real, but one of Auburn's radio announcers, Stan White, had a great idea about a rule change. On an injury timeout, the team with the injury can only substitute for the player that was injured.

Does that sound like a good rule change?

Actually, he's a Tennessee fan, but with the Volunteers being super-shitty the past few years or so, he doesn't talk about it.

No thankfully I didn't lol Had a good weekend except for Stanford.

You and I rode that train a couple of years when it derailed. Do we dare jump back on now? :1orglaugh
Interesting that A&M opens a 3 point favorite over Mississippi.

i couldnt even say that with a straight face....

i think it is strategy. that fast pace stuff is jive to start with. having the men on the field you want according to the down is a part of the game. how can a defense prepare for the down they facing? it is dirty pool and i am glad they finding a way to stop it.

You sound like Nick Saban.

No, that was not a compliment.

You were right. That WS game does look better now than before. Even though Mr. Magoo didn't cover the 3 points with Mich in town we got a few ranking points. No wonder those kids stormed the field. The only line I've seen so far is 12-1 against beating Ohio St. The only hope I see is special teams keeping it close but those opportunities must be converted into points.

He did graduate from Tennessee but he worked in the state writing for newspapers and doing radio and followed UA for over 30 years. There's no doubt his loyalty is with UA.

I'm well aware. I'm 49, and I've lived just outside Birmingham since I was 6.
