Jordan Lynch would get my vote. He's thrown for more yards than McCarron and rushed for more than Yeldon. (Im not diminishing their seasons, just using them for comparison) And he's undefeated. If that doesn't embody what the Heisman represents than it has become a meaningless award given to the best player on the best team.

My top 4 candidates for the Heisman Trophy right now:

1. Derek Carr
2. Jordan Lynch
3. Aaron Murray
4. Johnny Manziel

I sort of said the same thing earlier. Most of the guys who could make a deserving case have lost late in the season, and the voters are stupid enough to think that should matter. Winston, even if he's innocent, has too much baggage. No one in their right mind would/should vote for him only to find themselves facing questions about why they voted for a suspected rapist. I acknowledge that McCarron now has a reasonable chance, but if it happens, history will judge him as someone who never deserved it.
people from auburn may say he never deserved it. any other football fan can understand the process of elimination. i think they should bench aj and put in 2nd string. since he has just lead his team to two national championships maybe 3? i wouldnt expect anything different from a auburn fan. just like jagger said if everyone in front of him is eliminated. you think someone from where should win it? tulane was it? lol 2 funny. SOME auburn fans will eat their face before they would give Alabama one ounce of credit. :chickendance: i think last weak proved stats is deceiving. petty and mariota looked good as long as they were playing high schools.

are you stupid enough to think it shouldnt matter? so..they were a standout player. just not against teams on their level? get out of town man. and let me add. if aj dont dust auburn...i have nothing to complain about if his name is not mentioned. but NOW imo...under the circumstances we have. if he smokes auburn he should win it hands down.
Several on here have said McCarron doesn't deserve it and they're not Auburn fans. Besides, you'll never meet a more objective Auburn fan than me.

Plus, Nick Marshall is Auburn's starting quarterback and I've been saying all along Auburn's second stringer, Jeremy Johnson, is better than Marshall. Marshall may have taken them to 10-1, but it's all been done on an overwhelming rushing attack. Marshall is too 1-dimensional. He can run like a gazellle, but he's not a good passer.

Also, how can you possibly argue than McCarron should get the Heisman when 44 quarterback's in the country have more pssing yards, 89 quarterbacks have a higer rating. That's Eighty-Nine!

Most of what McCarron does, anybody could do. Take the snap and hand it off to a real star player like TJ Yeldon.

And the crack you made about other teams schedules. What about Alabama's? They've had it somewhat easy. They have only played 2 teams that are decent, Texas A&M and a great offense, but a shitty defense, and LSU, who lost because Les Miles tried to force a running game when it was clear it wouldn't work, 43 yards on 31 attempts. Dumbass.

Lastly, I would really love to know how is it possible that you have been a member for 10 years and you still fail to understand how the Reply with Quote button works?

You're spot on with Derek Carr and Jordan Lynch. I can even agree with Manziel. He may have lost 3 games, Alabama, Auburn and LSU, but he still played great against Bama and Auburn. LSU is the only bad game he's played.

Aaron Murray though, I just don't see it. At least, not this year. Georgia lost too many stars after last season. If he had all of last years players, they'd probably be undefeated.

Is anyone having any issues with the board?

I just noticed that smoknn's last post disappeared after I posted my last comment.

Oh well, at least it's still visible in my quote, post 443.

I need to make a correction. It seems that someone (some team) played a game on either Mon, Tue or Wed and passed McCarron, so he's now ranked 46th in passing yards.

i dont know what his stats are ...but hes 3rd in the HT race. and looks like one win away from taking it home to me. unless auburn gets 4 int.

If the investigation drags on, I just don't many people voting for Winston.

Williams would be a good choice. Already over 2,000 yards rushing and an outside chance to break the single season mark.

We had a huge turnout today at Thanksgiving and I posed the question to my family (all Alabama fans, by the way),
"Does McCarron deserve a Heisman nomination?" With one exception, my sister, all of them said No.

You make an excellent point with Aaron Murray. He has lost too many games this year like like Johnny Manziel. If Georgia hadn't lost so many key players during the season, I'm pretty sure they would have had a much better record. That loss against Clemson really annoyed me.

Oregon needs to start searching for their next HC, Helfrich just can't cut it.

man i think Oregon worst enemy is themselves. to start with they need to figure out the game of football is made up of more than just offense. and i have seen them winning 30 points and pull one out of the bag. you dont show all your tricks when you have clearly got the game won. they need to learn the art of using the clock to speed up the game when they have it nailed down. waste some clock and let their punter play. and as good of a offense as they put together i be damn if defense would just keep beating me EVERY year? i would get someone if i had to buy him from the nfl

Agreed, they show their hand. There's no point in beating a cupcake 77-0.

Oregon's blocking scheme is obviously flawed, as Stanford has proven the past two years. Penetration kinda puts sugar in that high octane gas tank. The O line has to be bigger, and they HAVE to play defense without the attitude of, "Well, the Offense can always get us out of this." I see Oregon as eerily similar to Florida when Spurrier was there. Lots of offense, good defense, but the defense was never really emphasized enough, because like Oregon, they always thought they had enough O to make up for any points the opponent scored.

At any rate? What now? FSU v. the winner of the SEC championship game? And what if Winston is indicted in the 5 weeks between conference championship games and the NC game?

If you missed the Iron Bowl, you missed one of the greatest games in the history of college football! I was stunned that Auburn's defense played as good as they did. Malzahn said it all week, if it is was close in the 4th quarter, he felt good about their chances. And the way it ended, truly epic!

Unnnnnnnnn fucking believable.

Regarding the NC, it's OSU and FSU's to lose, no? It sure as fuck should be. If OSU beats MSU, they deserve a shot. But I'd bet my bottom dollar an SEC sneaks their way in somehow.

It would be nobody's fault but OSU's because of their weak schedule.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
If Auburn wins the SEC championship, they would be more deserving than OSU. The Tigers would have beaten 6 Top 25 teams. OSU, only 2.

I'm hoping they play Missouri. Another win against a 1-loss team ranked 3 or 4 would look better than a win against SC.

Hopefully, both of them don't lose. That wouldn't look good.
