Yes, the rules need to be modernized, and one rule should be that each school be required to hire someone who teaches a class to the athletes on the rules, and check-up on the athletes to make sure they actually obey the rules.

It would be much better an easier to just admit the rules are stupid in the first place and getting rid of them instead of trying to teach something most of them don't really care about and enforcing things that are almost impossible to do.

Jadeveon Clowney going to South Carolina.

They will not be National Champion contenders this year. Nor the next. Nor the year after that.

You never know. Even I would have never thought my beloved Auburn Tigers would have been in contention last year, but they brought the trophy home! WAR EAGLE!

I pretty much expected that would be the case. South Carolina is starting to become a real force.

The Chicken Curse will keep them from being a contender. It was no surprise Clowney signed with them. He lives less than an hour away and there's a few of his friends and teammates down there.

The main problem for them is having to play in the SEC. If they were in the Big East or ACC, they would certainly have a chance, but going undefeated in the SEC is a daunting task.

I read earlier today that they are thinking of adopting some more NFL rule - something about the 10 second run rule at the end of the quarter if there's an injury, and more. Now the article seems to have disappeared. Anyone else see it?

Obviously created by some jealous douche-bag, probably a Bama fan, who can't stand the fact that Auburn won the national championship.

Dude, lighten up! It was supposed to be funny...

And why in the world would a Bama fan be jealous?

I live in Alabama and most of the Bama fans around here have been acting like supreme assholes since Auburn won the NC. Even Bama fans that are supposed to be friends of mine have gone out of their way to make pissy comments. I know all teams have their share of jerky fans, but I've always known that Alabama has a far greater percentage. I've never hated on Bama or any other team (except Notre Dame) and it just makes my skin crawl when people do things to belittle such an amazing accomplishment.

Well that's sad if true, I know this UA alum isn't jealous. I will say that toon i posted was funny, but I do know some Aubbies whom I've had that very conversation with, so I guess the moral of the story is that anyone who is so big a fan they cannot be objective or rational, they need to get a life!

I wasn't trying to be a jerk. My fuse is just short from all the shit I've had to put up with lately. It wouldn't be so bad if I lived in Auburn or Opelika, but I'm in Birmingham. Aside from Tuscaloosa, that's probably the biggest concentration of Bama fans in the state. Anyhow, it's refreshing to find an Alabama fan that's not bent out of shape over Auburn's accomplishment. Thanks for that.

I hear ya, and believe me, I know that many people on both sides of that rivalry really do need to focus on more "productive" pursuits rather than base their lives around 18-22 year old kids playing a sport. They forgot that it's supposed to be FUN, not life or death. :2 cents:

To that end, I did think the video was funny because there ARE people that htink God had something to do with it, and that anyone associate with THEIR school can do no wrong. :)

I haven't been around anyone that believes God was on our side. Anyone believing that certainly deserve a Gibbs slap to the back of the head. Really, there's enough crap in the world to keep him busy. A football game is just so trivial in comparison to earthquakes, tsunamis, terrorist bombings, and so on.

i dont know about allllll that...they have been almost for a few years...bout time for them to be a real challenge..they are getting better every year it seems..i have no calls now i wait till the dust clears...before i make my pick..i know bama should be good..defense is going to be good..replacing ingram and jones on offense...is going to be hard..but that defense alone i think will make us in the way

2 in a row for the state of Alabama is what i see...and when you add it up..bama played auburn a better game than oregon ..so in my little football book of rules:2 cents:...auburn #1 and bama #2 this year...im not big on checkers..but its not the state of alabamas move...that i know
