I think they finally get rid of Ponder and with the recruits they have coming in...look out.

Besides, the ACC is awful. I don't know about OU. Not won over by them at this point. :dunno: Big 12 is definitely theirs for the taking.

The strength of Florida State is their defense, and no one knows the Florida State defense better than OU (because the run the same defense). Also, I think OU has the fastest defense in the country. Jones will have another field day and the OU defense will make the new starting QB a living hell. OU will win that game by 20 plus.

Eh, I'm not sold on Oklahoma either. Landry Jones has never impressed me at all.

It's a little unfair to Landry because people compare him to Bradford. Their clearly not the same QB, but I thought he made a big leap from his freshman year. If he makes another leap like that into his junior year... look out. He might even be a Heisman finalist.

Even with the leap he made from freshman year to sophomore year, he's still incredibly spotty on his accuracy(which is one of the reasons why I hate Blaine Gabbert as an NFL prospect) and that's in the *spread*, which isn't a good sign.

 There is no way OU will beat the Noles by 20+ at FSU. No chance. The Noles will be beating the war drum loud weeks before that one...

I bet the Sooners step off the plane, hear the warchant...and wet their pants collectively....:yesyes::thefinger

I thought this link was interesting, top 25 and bottom 25 universities regarding sports programs and academics.

Wow. Some of the bottom 25 are really surprising.

And I'll go on record again saying that there is no doubt that Notre Dame belongs in the top few on the list of good guys. They work really hard to make sure their athletes are working academically, and that rubs off on the athletes, and motivates them to finish their degrees.

Lol, that's funny.

It's a little ridiculous to talk about a game 9 months from now. I'll save my smack talk till then. :thefinger

So....assuming the U sucks so now FSU is your sexy ACC team to root for, t-rock? Aside from your never-ending undying love for USC....are you just a college football whore? Not trying to be an asshole (well....maybe just a little bit :1orglaugh) but how can you change loyalties so easily?

Then again....maybe you're just expressing an opinion? :dunno:

Or....perhaps maybe your still reeling from your cataclysmic demise in the bowl challenge? :1orglaugh:D:1orglaugh

Just fucking with you, bro!! :hatsoff:

There is that whole thing about Notre Dame causing somebody to die last year because of the total disregard for the person's safety while they were filming the football team on a windy day on an unstable lift. I don't even think anybody like the coach or athletic director even got punished for it, even thought they were responsible and it's blatantly obvious the should have known better.

Zing!!!

I don't see an advantage, D-rock. If it were an actual poll then perhaps there would be some slight recruiting advantages but this is just some list put together by a blogger. Meaningless from my perspective except as a discussion point. JMO of course :2 cents:
If enough people start putting schools at the top or at a certain position it will pretty much become a self fulfilling prophecy at some point and they will probably begin the season that around that place in the polls. In something like this public perception is huge and if done enough it influences everybody else with group think.

The advantage is that begging the season at the top gives you a lot more leeway with a loss or two than a team that starts lower down all other things being equal like the quality of the team. A team that starts the year at the top of the polls and loses a game early in the season will still probably crawl back near the top if they win out. A team lower down will just be getting into a good position and if they lose will pretty much drop them out of anything meaningful unless they really tear it up from that point on, especially if they lose latter in the season.

I agree.
I find it very hard to believe UCLA is in the bottom 25 rather than the top.
Also that USC in top 25 rather than the bottom.
During the years I lived in LA it was the exact opposite.

Couldn't help but notice my Ducks are circling the drain at 5th dumbest :o :o :o :o :o

I guess I'll indulge myself and post my top 10 for next year.

1 Oregon
2 Oklahoma
3 Alabama
4 LSU
5 Florida State
6 Arkansas
7 Stanford
8 Boise State
9 Wisconsin
10 South Carolina

Good stuff. Anyone notice how theres a bunch of SEC schools on each list? There's the classy programs like Florida and Alabama, and then there's the scum like Auburn and LSU.

Did anyone notice that 4 out the top 8 and 9 in the top 25 are Big 10/11/12 schools. Only 1 in the bottom 25.

Maybe I'm missing something, but that might be a big reason those schools can't recruit the top "athletes" nationally. Not that bringing in Nebraska is helping the image of an "academic" conference.

Well keep in mind those ranking are a composite of a lot of factors, and it includes all of the "big" sports programs at the school. :2 cents:

yeah, I figured he'd go. Is Fairley going as well?

It looks like the SEC will have a big draft class this year with the regular and early departures. I'm just glad Luck is staying another year over here

I'm hearing yes... at the risk of upsetting a certain AU homer on our board, they are not hanging around there... reasons forthcoming and will be very obvious, I will say no more for now. :anonymous

Figured this would get a chuckle out of some of you:
