Does anybody here think the United States will EVER win a World Cup? :dunno: Hell we have 300+ million here and a lot of soccer moms. I just wonder...

Yes they have the potential , but they wont win it in my lifetime they are to far behind the top countries & the top countries havent changed for the last 30 - 40 years its always the usual suspects , the Usa has some way to go before they can compete with the top teams in the world

Maybe, but not anytime soon. USA has some good players. I like DaMarcus Beasley and thought Freddie Adu was good a few years ago but he seems to have lost his mojo. As someone who has lived in America it seems to be NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and there's a whole collegiate system that picks up young sportsmen in these fields. Just don't think soccer is well enough liked for young males to take up. At least not now.

Well I played hockey, tennis and soccer in high school and soccer was probably my favorite. Don't know why, but I just loved the game, even though I was probably better at hockey.

Argentina' got sooooo many great players, including the world's greatest of all : Leo Messi. Unfortunately, as a coach, Maradona is pathetic :(

Agreed. Why Maradona when there are so many better coaches. Hector Cuper comes to to mind. I watch the Argentinian football on ESPN and Veron is amazing. He never played that well in England. lol

USA won't win it this year because they are thin but talented. After the top 12 or 13, they suffer. Plus a lot of guys are dealing with injuries.

Freddy Adu is good in America because so many soccer players are on the smaller side. He is barely 5'10", if that. How is he going to dominate against the Italian, German or English backline? He can't and won't.

Good point. I remember Freddie Adu from a few years back when they said he was America's Pele. He even had a trial for Manchester United, but he's not shown the potential he had when he was younger. Like I said, he's lost his mojo (or should that be Jojo!)

Are you fuckin kidding me!? SERBIA all the way!!! :thefinger

argentina will not be champions. they have to paying cosmic karma because of 1978’s results, and Maradona’s hand goal at 1986 (heretically called by himself “Hand of God”) to the list. Like God would have to get that low to achieve anything.

Anyone that comes out of America & can kick the ball foward , according to Americans , is suddenly the new Pele , funny how it never works out

So many votes fore England. very surprising to me.
Ok they have good players such as Gerrard, L

So many voters for England
Indeed england has great players such as Gerrard, Rooney or Lampard. But they miss a proper GK. You can't win a great competition without a great GK.

I would love to see bastian schweinsteiger join my team (Arsenal) He has everything a midfielder should have. Think he could be a big star at World Cup 2010.
