Wow, the French team really is a mess. Everyone knew they were bad, but in fact they are even worse. It's been rumored that the whole team has some kind of beef with Domenech, not only Gallas who has been stripped of his captancy. Ribery is complaining about Henry not playing from the beginning, Henry of course himself is complaining about that too, the press and fans wanted to see Malouda from the beginning, and this stuff goes on and on and on. I don't care for France and their football team, so it's actually hilarious what happens with them, but if I were French, I would take a stand against this shit.
In the end I guess it's safe to say, Karma really is a bitch.
But also kudos to La Tri, a well played game, it's great to see Blanco score a goal at the age of 37.
BTW, anyone know why the Mexican players don't put their right hand over their heart anymore during their national anthem?

Mexico (La Mexique?) played fabulous soccer. They were clever, that Salcedo on the wing had his way against my Arsenal buddy Bacary Sagna

It's true.
There is big interns problems in the team. Some players have took the power on the team. Your forgot to mention that most of the key players (Ribery, Henry, Anelka, Gallas, Evra, etc...) don't like Gourcuff. They avoid to give him the ball. So finally Domenech put him on the bench.
The probleme is that the cach hates the press. He always tries to annoy them, not to answer their questions, etc...
After the tyerrible Euro '08, most people wanted Domenech to leave but inside the feration there are some political struggle for influence. Most of the federation feared to loose some power by putting someone like Deschamps or Blanc as coach. Som they maintain Domenech.
Hopefully whatever the team will do during this World Cup, the fate of Domenech is already decided since the infamous game versus Eire : His contract will not be renewed, Laurent Blanc (who was part o the '98 team and who's now head coach of Bordeaux) will be the new coach.

I think Govou should never start a game again. He's just a bench player. Toulalan should never play again period. I'm also thinking Abidal has played his last game too.

If that's true about Gourcuff, you can't just bench Gourcuff, you have to bench everyone who is purposely not giving him the ball, that's ridiculous. And Abidal, as usual, did something stupid when the lights are on on the big stage. At least he's consistent. And why the hell is Govou playing, and how the hell can Henry actually think he deserves a place in the team? IMO I'd revamp the lineup (Clichy for Evra, Reveillere for Sagna, Squillacci for Abidal, Diarra for Toulalan, Cisse for Govou - with Anelka on the wing cuz Lord knows can't score goals for France, etc) and tell them this is their game to win, and if they find a way to go through, they are his team from here going forward.
USA is going to win it all.

It's high time to retouche Domenech out of the history books. I used to be an avid fan of les Bleus ten years ago. It's sad to see the train wreck the team is now.
I really hope Laurent Blanc can get them back on track again. If you are a supporter of the French, yesterday's match must have been as much fun as watching the Nuremberg trials.

I wouldn't write off the Germans now. They won two of their three World Cups after losing a preliminary match (1954 against Hungary 3-8 and 1974 against East Germany 0-1). The only other nation that managed to do the same was Argentina 1978 (0-1 against Italy).
North Korea is apparently missing four players. I rather expected some broke Greeks to seek asylum in Africa. :1orglaugh
