I don't think Saban left either of his teams before the seasons end. Changing teams is a pastime in the SEC though, Spurrier, Nutt, Tubberville, Saban are all 2 team SEC coaches.

I pm'd people about this ages ago. It is no surprise. It was a clause in Kelly's contract that he could always go to ND. It is the job he has always dreamed of. The clue is in his name. He has been offered it because it is just about impossible to have done a better job than he has this last 3 seasons. In the city he has been a tireless promoter of all things good. You will be hard pressed to find anyone with a bad word to say about him. (Unlike Huggins.)

Here in Cincinnati - the UC crowd with half a brain wish him well. With regards to a shot at the teams above them the big east crowd know it is a step up to the SEC. It would be nice to win our bowl game, but not the end of the world.

The big worry is that Kelly will tap Cincinnati high schools for talent. With the recent exposure the city (which has great highschool football) might stop Ohio State coming in and cherry picking but if Kelly takes all his assistants and contacts with him and they strip the city clean we'll be back to square one.

Who wants the Bearcats job?

He left Michigan State to take the LSU job before a bowl game. What he did with the Dolphins to take the 'Bama job was bush league as well. I'm not saying he's not a good coach. He's just one of those guys that doesn't stay in one place for long. At least with Kelly he had some stability at Grand Valley State before these last three jobs.

The fact that Saban also has flat out lied about leaving a place right before he did so makes it just that much worse in my view. Objectively I can't dispute the fact he's a good at operating a winning college program, but that doesn't absolve him being a douchebag in my opinion.

While I don't begrudge the man taking his dream job, I have to say that bailing on his team right before the biggest bowl game they've ever played in is probably the biggest dick move I've ever seen. What a fucking douche. Honestly, would it have killed anyone to hold off three weeks before announcing this?

I wonder if he took a big shit in the locker room before he left, too.

I forgot his time at MSU as well as Toledo before that.

That also seems to run in the sec, see Bobby Petrino and the Falcons. But remember they don't call it lying it's "Coachspeak" because the didn't want to admit they were giving up on their current jobs

It's amazing to me how coaches can't wait to leave winning situations to go and coach Notre Dame!
If I were those kids at Cincinatti, I'd tell Kelly to shove it up his ass.....:2 cents:

I totally agree with you all he did was let those kids down before one of the biggest game of their lives that is it for some of those guys and now Flordia just became a 20 point favorite.I hope he goes 0-12 that is so fucked up,sad, and horrible:mad:

You can't really blame a guy for taking a better job. As down as ND has been it is still one of the prestigious jobs in collage football. It does concern me that this is the second time in a row that he has left a team before a bowl game. It kind of reminds me of Nick Satan...I mean Sabin.

Better that gate swing both ways the way it is going it is getting worse you now go to Notre Dame to play basketball.Yeah I said it

I can't agree with you more. That is what they call in the "Hood" A ole bitch ass move by the way Roy is a good name for you penis,Hey you asked

They change coaches in College more often than they change the sheets at the bunny ranch.

I second that that was a damn good post Brian Kelly should go stick his head in a hole.I mean that really pisses me off there is no loyalty in coaching anymore as far staying somewhere that is good for you.Someone should tell him everything that githers ain't gold but hey what is done is done:dunno:

I really would've liked to see a focused, prepared Cincy team try to take down the mighty Gators.

Maybe Congress should pass a law BANNING ALL COACHING INTERVIEWS AND HIRES until AFTER the National Championship game.

The lame thing about this is that he would be available for Notre Dame after the bowl game. There isn't a job opening right now that he would jump for other than ND's....

2 BCS games already look like dumper matchups (Iowa/Georgia Tech + Cincy/Florida)

Sad thing is that on paper they are really decient games

The problem is we will end the college football season with 2 possibly 3 undeafeated teams, so really nothing was solved.

texas is # 2 no losses, hard to deny them after the fucking they took from okl last year. cinn gave up 45 points to ucon boise st gave up 35 points to la tech....tcu is the only undefeated team left thats got a reason to cry. i see nothing to do but fuck texas again (not) soooo looking at it here, i think a playoff is needed but we dont have one soooo, i guess its tcu's time to get screwed......if tcu played bama for NC what we gunna do with texas? my point is cinn and boise should be glad just to be there instead of running into a good team and getting slamed in the bowl game.cinn has got florida right where they want them, just like utah did bama last year something about letting the NC slide through your hands its like a death blow, but tcu may be the best team in the ncaa but i guess we will never know, kinda like auburn the year they was undefeated. i think they was the best team in the nation that year. lets just say tcu got auburned<<(new word i just made)

Well considering that everyone BUT you knew that I was talking about after the NC game when there will be at the very least 2 undefeated teams they should play each other for an out right champion. It's that simple. The college season is not over till after the bowl games, aprently every BUT you knows this.

well we been doing it this way for years, so now that bama can win the NC by beating texas you think they should have to beat someone else as well or texas after getting a royal fucking by okl last year should have to beat someone besides bama? the way i see it we wont know till tcu and boise plays if boise beats tcu..i guess they didnt get fucked so bad after all no team that gives up 35 and 45 points should have nothing to do with the NC everyone knows this BUT YOU!!!!!!

Yet texas gave up 39 points and they ARE playing for the NC. so whats your point? Does it really matter how many points you give up? No all that really matter is WINS and when it comes down to the final game of the season and there are schools that have zero wins, they should be playing each other till there is ONE that remains. I hated the BCS for years, its a bullshit system.

It comments like that. That makes me go:confused:No theam that gives up 35 and 45 points should have nothing to do with the National Champion:confused:Why:dunno:

smoknn is it possible that there are two reasons that Bama didn't give up many points this year--1) they feasted on a bunch of cupcakes (6 games on Bama's schedule would be won by every top 25 team) and 2) Most SEC teams play shitty offense?

Most people who follow college football closely don't consider the Big12 a defensive conference--it's kinda gained the reputation for being the most high-scoring conference. Who else but Nebraska, Okie and Texas play defense in the Big 12?

Or maybe you don't know any of this? :dunno:
