People will always remember this as the game Colt got injured. It's hard to look at this as a legit victory.

Ah got ya now, yep that is how I will remember it. Oh and they decided to run up the score in the final minute of play.

What is more embarrassing...that lame Gatorade shower on Saban or Texas trying to throw the ball at this point? Can't this game end already....:1orglaugh

the gatorade shower is one of my least favorite things the tv guys like to focus on. kind of dumb imo. now the original gatorade shower was classic. the giants getting parcels. i think it was LT who did it? anyway now its just lame imo.

here's a list of stupid ncaa things that i'd like to see die off

1. holding up 4 fingers. thats acutally the U's thing back when they dominated in the 4th quarter and they started doing that while collecting national championships as easily as i collect bottle caps. then it became popular and other teams started copying it. and nearly all of the teams that do it don't fit the bill for doing it. sorry but it looks fucking retarded and i immediately start pulling for the other team when it happens.

2. Darth Vader theme or Imperial March played after your team does something to the other team. Why don't you fuckin go ahead and tell us a joke about why the plane should be made out of the same material as the black box??? stale, lame, stupid and annoying.

3. Gatorade bath. (see rant above)

4. too many espn commentators names to mention but most annoy me. i thought Andre Ware did a good job this year though.

5. Heisman hype. i dont need to know who's the front runner for the heisman during the month of July thank you very much.

agree with you guys, thanks so much to Bodie for throwing this together!

i'm almost sad to see nature rock go.....wooooooooooooooooooo!

I agree with all of your points except #2---I love that theme. I don't get tired of hearing that at all...

One of my takeaways from tonight was how KICKASS the Univ of Alabama band sounded! WOW...I wish we heard more of them. They played fantastic music at halftime...

yeah i saw the bama band at cotton bowl a few years back and they are good.

i love the theme, dont get me wrong, its just that playing it over and over and over gets very unoriginal.

i totally forgot to mention another thing i wish would die off.....BCS lol

ok, so whats the final standings in this Bowl Contest? who got Ms Congeniality?

Well, I was cheering for 'Bama (no dog in the fight, but close friend graduated from 'Bama, so...) but I have to say, my memory of the game will be the fierce come from behind, almost-win by Texas. What an effort! Cheers to the Tide for a great win, but cheers too to Texas. Star QB goes down the second play, true freshman almost pulls off the comeback. Amazing. Thanks all for a great game, and ROOOOOOOLL TIIIIIDE!!!! And, Hook 'em, Horns! Two great teams, one awesome game!

Now nine freaking months 'til we get more college football. :(

Are not injuries part of the game for both sides? I surely wish Colt was in the game. Alabama brought unusually aggressive pressure, and he paid the price. Now the whole team is paying the price.

If the injury were to the Alabama quarterback, would your objection be the same?

Of course injuries are part of the game. All I'm saying is that Colt McCoy being out made all the difference in this game. I'm not "objecting" to anything....I'm saying that it sucks that the national title game comes down to a clash against 2 teams, one of which doesn't have their best team on the field. Also, McElroy is not nearly as important to 'Bama's offense as McCoy is to Texas'. C'est le vie....

if texas could protect their QB then maybe Colt would not have gotten hurt, don't say Alabama won because of a freshman QB. Don't forget that the Texas receivers aren't catching passes. Monroe let that shovel pass bounce right off his fingers, not Gilbert's fault.

In case you missed it, Colt got injured on a designed QB run so I don't know where you get off with the "if Texas could protect their QB" stuff. It's a risk you take when your QB runs with the ball. It happened, I think it sucks, I wish that both teams would have had all of their best players on the field for the whole game so we could have had a true measure of who had the better team, that didn't happen and Alabama won. Case closed.

Side notes: that bungled shovel pass was a result of Gilbert's unfamiliarity with the first team offense. How many reps do you think he got the past 6 weeks with the first team in preparation for this game? My bet is that slip-up doesn't happen if McCoy is in there but hey I'm not going to play the "shoulda woulda coulda" game....it's pointless. It's over. Yippee for Ala-damn-bama....the undisputed BCS champs. :glugglug:

Also, McElroy had only been sacked 15 times all season and the Texas D sacked him 5 times last night alone and Alabama spent almost the entire game running the ball. Had Texas somehow been able to convert those first 2 possessions to TDs instead of FGs (one of which was after McCoy got hurt), 'Bama's run game goes out the window and McElroy is forced into a pass mode....bad news for 'Bama. Hell, we might have sacked him 15 times in one game had that occurred. Alas, it didn't and you know the rest of the story. Texas showed themselves to be stoic under adversity last night and I am PROUD TO BE A LONGHORN. Great experience for Gilbert going forward. Thanks for the great season, boys.

Great season and Roll Tide! :)

It was a sloppy game and I was sorry that Colt got hurt, he's a player and a classy kid. All of that said, it's good to see Bama finally get back over the hump again. Now with being back "on top," I'm sure the haters will bash, and that's fine.

Great season, I'm always sad to see it end... Now I can finally be productive on Saturdays for a while!

IMO there still seems to be another team with an undefeated record as well.

Gilbert is going to do great things for the Longhorns IMO

Note that I said "BCS", Jason. That's the system....Alabama is the undisputed BCS champion because the mighty BCS says so. Just like last year when Utah got jobbed. Boise has a very legitimate case to make but they play under the BCS rules and the BCS says Alabama is the champion. Case closed.

I'd like to see an alternative "renegade" organization pop up (like the "Non-BCS Championship Series" that would include members of non-BCS conferences (Mountain West, WAC, C-USA etc) that would have a post-season tournament and crown their own champion and let nature take its course (just like the old NFL-AFL). Unfortunately, the big, bad NCAA won't allow that I am certain.

Yea i was going to say that about the BCS but the AP, USA, Coaches and ESPN poll will all follow lock step with the BCS.

I am sure there is something aganist the rules abou that, but it would be rgreat to see.
