Big games coming up this week: LSU/Kentucky, Boston College/Notre Dame, Missouri/Oklahoma, Cal/Oregon State, and Louisville/Cincinnati (home team listed 2nd) and of course, many teams go into conference play...

This is really shaping up to be a fun college season with so many upstarts in the top 25!

The Satyr Icon

USC's John David Booty has a broken middle finger on his passing hand. Expect back-up Mark Sanchez to start.

My gawd...this week is starting to look up already!!:nanner::nanner: Bring on the Wildcats! C'mon Mark Sanchez...THE SAVIOR OF USC!!!

Folks! I'm sorry, but the APP ST upset was larger. Mich had all pre-season to get ready for APP ST, not to mention the @ home thing, the ole 1-AA thing, and the fact of history/tradition. Stanford has beaten USC @ home in the last 10 yrs. This is just a team being over-hyped by the media (again) that is not ready to be the best of their own conference.

dude, that was last month. i think we are all passed that by now.

Everyone will remember Appalachian State for years....nobody will remember Stanford after 5 more days because Stanford, while a National Championship factory in the non-revenue sports...does not care about football success and that disqualifies them from ever being taken seriously.

App State atleast wins titles..

Besides...if Mark Sanchez truly gets named starter for USC...he will start the process of the nation forgetting about John David Booty.

The nation needs to be healed!!! The nation cannot deal with her favored sons, USC, losing like this!

A couple weeks ago Louisville got upset by the 'Cuse and that was supposedly bigger then AppSt! Now USC /Stanford. Geez! We all know the real upset!

Har!
Talk about a manhood robbing, gonad crushing, soul destroying defeat - for the rest of their games the Huskers should be forced to wear skirts :1orglaugh

There's no point in analyzing ucla football. Who the hell knows why they can't find consistency.

I realize UCLA has financial constraints that USC doesn't, but I think the Bruin's problems basically boil down to not having a coach who's able to compete with Pete Carroll for recruits. Karl Dorrel is a good, earnest, hard-working guy, but that isn't going to prevent UCLA from falling further and further behind Carroll & USC. Subsequently I see the program not recovering for quite a long time. They still get some very good athletes, but the overall depth and quality (thus consistency) of their teams has definitely dropped under Dorrell/in competition with Carroll.

Nothing against the Big10, but I really can't say Illinois beating any of those conference foes is an upset this season. C'mon the so-called top two (this year) WISKY and Mich...well they have lost. TOSU is playing good ball again. Purdue beat ND, yet gets clocked in conf. And I have no idea what PSU is doing. So can we let that winner just go ROSE BOWL and forget about them?
