What makes me annoyed with MacFarlane's inflated ego is just that: He's trying to cause controversy, but its not working. What's the point in having characters say "fuck" if they are going to get bleeped? Does that make your show seem more adult? No, not when South Park gets away with dozens of uncensored swears every show and MacFarlane can't get one.
And it doesn't stop there. What really bugs me is that Fox will let him get away with some of this stuff. Remember, a few seasons back, during one of the episodes there was a clip that said the Simpsons was next, and Quagmire had sex with Marge and then killed the whole family? What is that? I don't know what is sadder about that: That MacFarlane thinks it's funny, or that Fox will let him make fun of their most famous show like that. Just because the show is popular doesn't mean you should let him do whatever he wants. That's why the show is so terrible now. There are hardly any good jokes anymore, and they are even reusing jokes (Like Lois falling down and holding her boob like Peter does with his knee. Yeah, that's funny...). At least the Simpsons is original every weekend. It might not always be funny (Though this season has been very good), but at least they are original.
And while I'm at it, what was with that contest Burger King held where the winner got to buy lunch for MacFarlane? The man gets paid millions, and yet he can't fork over ten dollars to buy his own Whopper. I guess maintaining a manatee tank costs a lot more then we all think it does.
