Fairly peanut buttery. It took some getting used to but I really like it now. The bok choy, eggplant, and green beans are good along with the oxtail. I use salt instead of the shrimp paste.

I like it like that. Those nasty ground up shrimp are the heart of that dish ;)

I'll probably like it after another year. I'm pretty good with most Filipino Food now and used to waking up seeing fish heads in the kitchen sink.
What are the fish heads doing in the sink? Don't flips make fish head soup or am I thinking about the Japs?

Tonight I got some Sushi from the Ralph's in Westwood Village. They have a full-service Sushi Bar in there and you can even sit down, order some, and eat it while drinking a beer. Pretty fun stuffs for a grocery store. Their Sushi is always tasty and fresh there. I'm a Wasabi Freak and got a few extra.

Hebrew National dogs. Nothing fancy but dipping them into Whitedevil's sauce. A generous bun sopping and I'm making all kinds of disgusting slurping yummy noises.

Today is lockdown. A foot of snow falling. I even had thunder snow this morning. My scrap bones are currently roasting for broths. My place will be smelling good today.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
The wife cut up a few chicken breasts, and cooked them in a pan, then added cream of mushroom soup, some fresh mushrooms, and nuked some small potatoes, then poured the chicken and gravy over the potatoes. I topped mine with some fresh grated Romano cheese.

High class gruel!

Nothing beats a good Jew dog, Hebrew Nationals and Keogels "skin on" franks are by far the best.

Tonight it was Zankou Chicken. We got a Whole Rotisserie Chicken, 3 Steak Skewers, Salad, Rice, Hummus, and Flatbread. Zankou also has this great garlic paste that they give you that is delicious with the chicken.

I did a search for Koegel's Franks and frond that they are only available Michigan/Ohio area.

When I did an image search to see the packaging I got 2 different kinds of images.

I'm in Cleveland, and I've never heard of them. Are they so good I should be trying to find them?

The hotdogs, not the incredibly muscular gay dudes.

As far as the big brand hot dogs, Hebrew National are top-tier right along with Nathan's. Ball Park aren't bad, but you're starting to get into Bar-S territory.

Every tourist to Manhattan gets a dirty water dog from an umbrella cart. Those are Sabrett. Only found on the east coast and some places in Cali and Texas in stores. Funny thing is you get that same taste at home very simply. Never boil or grill the dog. Into the pot and simmer. They also sell their sauced onions in jars and packets so no need to cook your own. Put them in another pot and let it warm. Steam your bun and you are now in Times Square. Ball Park and Bar-S are like bologna and boxed mac and cheese. Kid food. They don't know difference from the good stuff.

Oscar Mayers are fucking nasty. This is what Sonic markets as their coney? They should be sued.

Dogs are a regional thing and I'm willing to try any.

Yes, kinda pricey at around $5 a pack but best ones you will ever have. If your not a fan of "skin on" franks you can get the Koegels Viennas. They also make the best Braunschweiger, cold cuts, and various pickled meats. Worth the price IMO. If you have a Meijers, Family Fare, Walmart or any decent grocery store your golden. Check it out

I need to rep this post. No doubt, if you want a great dog, find a local company. Brats and rope sausage are the same. Hillshire Farm makes passable products, but nothing like what you can get locally. Renfro Sausage might be sold within a 100 mile radius of Lufkin, but that's some of the best smoked sausage anywhere, throw that shit on a blazing hot grill for five minutes and I'll take the Pepsi Challenge with anything Lockhart has to offer any old day of the fucking week, and really a lot of smoked sausage is so heavy on black pepper that it's inedible.

Made meatballs with ground beef, pork and veal. Romano cheese, garlic and Italian bread crumbs. I rolled them half the size of a baseball. Made a marinara sauce with crushed tomatoes. I dropped the meatballs in a little early and should have waited until about a half hour from serving. They softened up a little too much by allowing then to simmer too long but were still good. The marinara was very rich though from the flavor of the meatballs.
I still have some leftover. Will probably have it all weekend.
