So Why Did Kamala Harris Lose?

You are and are one of the sane ones worth having a discussion with. I like John also. We have had endless disagreements and will have many more but we have always treated each other with respect even with a bit of occasional mild poking fun at each other. We have never once insulted each other nor reduced ourselves to calling each other names. Thank you for all of that. I appreciate John as well. We can ride out anything and I was also prepared if Kamala Harris won too.
Coincidentally, we are both former Republican-leaning people.

The landslide went the other way in 2020.

Harris lost because we forgot why we kicked Trump out in 2020.

That's another possibility.

I still think having an obsession with dividing people by race and gender acting entitled to their votes might be an issue too. Trump did way better with minorities and women than he should have. He earned their votes instead of demanding them.

Coincidentally, we are both former Republican-leaning people.

Yeah. Much of my family lives in Palos Verdes and I always feel good failing their GOP Purity tests knowing that I'm not a member of a cult. I'm more Conservative than Liberal but I went more the Libertarian direction even though their Presidential Candidates tend to be bigger and goofier potheads than I am.

Some people enjoy being angry even when things do not effect them. I've enjoyed having 2 characters shake their umbrellas and wield their riding crops at me.

Sorry but I had to do that. Too funny...;)

I am a moderate after all.

Once upon a time ...

I've been a Republican all my life. But not a hardcore one. I voted for Ronald Reagan in my first election in 1980. Then Ronald Reagan again in 1984. Then George H.W. Bush in 1988. I turned around 180 degrees, and voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. (it was because of the Recession) Then ultimately Bill Clinton again in 1996. (Though, I did give donations to Bob Dole's campaign). I voted for George W. Bush in 2000. Then George W. Bush again in 2004. In 2008, I really liked John McCain. But his Vice Presidential pick, Sarah Palin made me turn away and I voted for Barack Obama. In 2012, I went back to Mitt Romney. In 2016, I couldn't trust Hillary Clinton and I voted for Donald Trump. In 2020, I changed (I blame Donald Trump for the Pandemic; I had two relatives die because of Covid-19. To see them on ventilators made me angry) and so I voted for Joe Biden. In 2024, Donald Trump, the now known pathological liar, grifter and con artist, just needed to go away and so I voted for Kamala Harris.

... The end.

Pretty obvious, most are white males. Even most hispanic and black males don't like women having power. She lost because of homophobia, sexism and racism that has always plagued this country. So sad how many people put their little echo chambers first then pretend to be patriots.

There are many reasons why Kamala lost. Here are some of the major ones...

- She simply came across as too happy, smiley, and joyful... out of touch with the sentiment of the average voter who was frustrated and angry over inflation and immigration.
- She overplayed her hand on Roe v Wade (i.e., abortion rights).
- As history has shown, she's a poor campaigner and not a natural politician. Her inability to think on her feet when asked tough questions was a glaring weakness.
- Voters perceived her to be less than authentic.
- Short-sighted, small-picture-thinking Americans voted for their personal finances over presidential integrity/decorum, the health of our Democracy, NATO (national security), Ukraine, global warming, and the environment.

What these voters fail to realize is, there's no guarantee Trump can or will improve their financial well-being.
On the flip side, it is all but certain that he'll damage Democracy (already has), NATO/national security (did it before), abandon Ukraine, abandon global-warming control initiatives,
and damage the environment (via deregulation).

You could argue that when wokeism is taken too far, it alienated otherwise neutral people

"Why did Kamala Harris lose?"

Don't keep up the suspense, the anticipation ain't that great.

I posted before the election that I needed to start spending more time on the Politics and Religion Sub-Forum, subsequently, I found myself with a greater love for Pussy than Politics.

I wish Walz ran instead. That was not the time to test this disgusting country's sexism. Especially against an SA pos.
