People are pointing fingers. Who gets the blame for this fabulous disaster? You can't fix a problem until you realize you have a problem. I see a number of bitter racists and manphobes who are not being very constructive with the healing.

I will also blame Joe Biden for hanging on too long. He should have announced after the 2022 mid-terms that he was retiring. If the 2020 primaries showed anything, it was that Kamala was a weak candidate. If not for the late notice, someone else would have stepped in.

Gmase, do you think other Democrats should stop pointing fingers blaming and shaming people based on race and gender for Kamala losing so badly? Seems people were already alienated enough so why put a stick in their eye in addition? What positives can be achieved by dividing your potential voters? We need 2 strong parties. We have one party rule in California and it's a disaster. If the Republicans ran the state as thorough it wouldn't be any better. We need the ability to discuss and even argue so we can test our ideas with some pushing back.
 
Mainly inflation. It seems to be the key. A medium box of cereal in 2019 vs. 2024 ..

My weekly grocery bill was between $34-$40 in 2020. My weekly grocery bill in 2024 is between $75-$85. Pretty much the same things being bought: eggs, bacon, bread, milk, two bags of snacks: corn chips and potato chips; a bag of almonds, a bag of cashews, Chips-Ahoy cookies, Oreos. Cold cuts, a jar of mayonnaise, mustard. Laundry products such as bleach and ammonia., etc., etc.

I think people resented their daily costs going up while the networks were throwing a dance party for Cacklepuss trying to gussy her up for the voting livestock. Kamala Harris developed a reputation for being unlikable but she overcompensated too much.

As the **** say this isn't a good look...

Of course. And both parties need to scale back the violent rhetoric and actions.

Harris lost because she ran a campaign which was long on ********* endorsements and short on a strong narrative. She had a plan, she discussed her plan, and the message got lost in all of Trump's bullshit.

Biden did some things well (discussed elsewhere), but she did not run away from Biden's faults. When she stated she couldn't think of something she would do differently than Biden - other than having a Republican in her cabinet - she tanked herself with persuadable voters.

One could also argue that she tried too hard to get 'soft Republicans' instead going farther to the left.

One has to wonder why she turned down a Black Caucus outreach program. She raised over $1 billion and didn't want to spend $10 million?

Gmase, that's a lot more moderate and constructive than a lot of the blindsided race-baiting mental patients who have endless wounds to lick that will never heal.

You are and are one of the sane ones worth having a discussion with. I like John also. We have had endless disagreements and will have many more but we have always treated each other with respect even with a bit of occasional mild poking fun at each other. We have never once insulted each other nor reduced ourselves to calling each other names. Thank you for all of that. I appreciate John as well. We can ride out anything and I was also prepared if Kamala Harris won too.
