Poll: Obama 'worst president' since World War II

In my view, most of US allies who have met both Bush and Obama (David. Cameron, Angela. Merkel, S. Abe, etc.) like Obama better than Bush.

No doubt.
And trust him more.
Major case in point: France and Germany refusing to join the "Coalition Of The Willing" that invaded Iraq.

Militias are growing and people are buying more guns because they're idiots who listen to hysterical, pussy crybabies and alarmists like Wayne LaPierre and Rush Limbaugh. Obama was never the slightest threat to gun owners.

Yep.
Many of those same folks bailed out of the stock market at bottom too, because as bad as it was when Bush left surely as part of Obama's commie agenda to transform America it was only going to get worse.

I didn't say he's not anti-gun. I said he has never been a threat to the 2nd Amendment.

And Blue, you once said, "don't start nothing, there won't be nothing." I already told you that you don't get to impugn mine or anyone's military record. You still don't you demented, drug-addicted alcoholic. You're a pathetic little coward who wouldn't know service if it was glued to the end of your nose. So fuck you and fuck the deranged crackwhore who gave birth to you. If you want to go down this road again punk, let's go down this road. It worked out really well for you the last time.
Nah, I don't take drugs or do I partake in alcohol consumption often. Just another instance of you pushing a false narrative. I think you are a bit sensitive about your military service to the point that you are now resorting to insults to not only me but to my family as well. Anyone paying attention can see that my remarks to you have not been on a level that would elicit such a response unless you didn't serve or your MOS was bulk fuel. So I will go down this road since you decided to bring family into the conversation. And while I did not serve, I have plenty of family members that did so I will question anything I damn well please. So tell me Sgt. Rock, how long did it take you to receive your DD 214?

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Pussy :crybaby:

Easy to be an e thug. I don't see you knocking on my door you infected ball bag, full of festering cock snot.

Someone should ask Angela Merkel how much she trusts Obama.
Some should ask N. Sarkozy wether he prefers to work with Bush or Obama

I also think that Bush's rethoric was quite appreciated by Al-Qaeda and other islamic terrorists organisations :
It was probably not what he meant but the way he phrased it make it easy for radical islamists to say the "War on Terror" is actually a "War on Islam".

Do you read before you respond? Sarkozy assumed office at the end of Bush's term
Did the NSA monitor his phone calls? Someone should ask Sarkozy why all that good will with Obama didn't help him defeat Hollande

Obama is a gun grabber? He signed more pro-gun legistlation into law in his first 4 years than Bush did in 8. He pissed off the democrats with his gun policy. It took the increase in school shootings and then Sandy Hook to get people to realize that something has to be done. But nothing was done. NOTHING. So please, back up your claim that he's a "gun grabber". Rush and Palin and whoever else on your side screeches about gun control and then sales go up. The NRA writes them a check to shriek again and more people join and then buy more guns. You don't see this?

Why is it that over 70% of Americans think that there should be background checks on ALL gun purchases, even a lot of gun owners, yet they can't get it done? People say requiring a license for a firearm is unconstitutional yet not to own or drive a car. Why? I am a gun owner and I thik everyone should be required to have a license and register every gun they own. What would that harm anything other than keep some lunatics from easy access who have no business owning a gun.

They met, at least twice

At the end of his term, Sarkozy was very unpopular, except among right-wing supporters. Any Left-Wing or Center-Left candidate would have beaten him. Having good relations with Obama didn't helped him 'cause, to french voters, foreign policy is a lesser issue compared to socio-economic issues, crime and immigration.

Thanks for making my point for me. He signed legislation you know the kind that originates from congress? And most of it was before 2012

Now don't go and make me lump you in with others you gun lover you.

wonderful.

The Right bashes Obama.

The Left bashes Bush.

So basically we should be blaming this generation of voters. For the past 16 years (at the end of the day), we will have voted in the two worst presidents in history awesome.

I'm glad we're all looking in this mirror on this and not being obtuse and just projecting our faults onto "the other guys".

So Obama didn't inherit one of the worst economies in the history of our country? How about the 2 longest running wars in American history? Did he start those? No. Our entire economy was on the brink of collapse when he took office and today 6 1/2 years later we are in MUCH better shape than we were then. Dispute that, Please. I dare you.

...and the beat goes on...

Not defending Bush or Obama...
Just bitching about the "longest running wars" without understanding why we were in them and what the actual missteps were just keeps the division running.
The economy was in a bad place, but not on the verge of collapse.

Can we take a breath and all stop reading from talking points?

On my facebook page, I literally saw two memes from the same person back to back:
Meme 1: Told of how Obama got the gas prices under $2.50 faster than was promised by the Republicans.
Meme 2: Told of how fracking is destroying the environment.

I not only think that anyone who defends their politician completely and completely bashes "the other guy" is not only showing their lack of depth of understanding any of the issues, but they are also contributing to the division in this country.

However, me constantly saying the same thing on this point, I believe, shows that I don't have any brain cells left. So, have at it. :)

not on the verge of collapse? housing market in the tank banks failing investment houses going under AIG failing auto companies failing stock market under 7k people losing their pensions = FAILING and 2 wars sucking the money out of our economy with no end in sight under republicans.

so yes, very much on the verge of collapse.

Anecdotal data. Did we pull out of the economic downturn by some magic solution? No, some discipline was applied, some relief was given. Nothing magical happened. The US economy was going through a tough downturn, but was not on the verge of economic collapse.

However, if you were to say, IMO it was on the verge of collapse, I would have no problem with that. Then we would be able to equate the statement with what we know of your expertise and weight it. Also, who am I to argue what may or may not be your opinion.

If you say it factually, then you actually need facts to show that the economy was about to collapse, not just that bad things were happening. My portfolio lost money, my house lost value that still hasn't recovered. They were bad things.

Also, how did we get there? I think Bush made some bad decisions on the revenue/expense side of things. Our economy was also saddled with some poor regulation of the finance industry (I believe Warren is on the right track) and years of the government attempting to regulate who had a right to own property.

Democrats controlled congress from 2007-2011. Democrat policies over many years lead to subprime lending mess and economic crisis. Repubs took over congress in 2010 and now the senate. Things are now improving. Things are looking up. It is happening in spite of Obama. 37 republican governors creating jobs contributes to the rebound. Obama sits on the sidelines and watches the adults make a difference. Thanks Obama!

Actually the longest running war in american history was the Viet-Nam War (1955-1975). And there had been wars against native americans that lasted even longer. The Texas - Indian Wars (against Comanche) lasted 55 years.

Americans didn't join the war until 65. Well ok...Kennedy had US 1000 troops in Vietnam upon his Presidency before 65 and the French were fighting the North Vietnamese then. Kennedy's goal was to return all US troops back home if he won a second term. Sadly that didn't happen but I honestly believe if Kennedy was still living and won a second term, there would be no US troops in Vietnam and he might have been able to end the Cold War much sooner.

This notion that republicans oppose Obama because he's a black president is fucking stupid and childish, not to mention blatant race-baiting.

The GOP questioned the President's birthing record and that was childish, a waste of time and stupid.

Democrat policies over many years lead to subprime lending mess and economic crisis.

Plenty of blame to go around here.
By 2001-2 George Bush, among other Republicans, had enthusiastically jumped on that bandwagon...

”More and more people own their homes in America today. Yet we have a problem here in America because fewer than half the Hispanics and African Americans own their own homes. That’s a home ownership gap; a gap that we got to work together to close. And by the end of this decade we’ll increase the number of minority homeowners by 5.5 million families."

“One of the major obstacles to minority home-ownership is financing. Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac have committed to provide more money for lenders, they committed to meet the shortage of capital available for minority home-buyers. Freddie Mac just began 25 initiatives around the country to dismantle barriers and create better opportunities for home-ownership. One of the programs is designed to help families with bad credit histories to qualify for home ownership loans. You don’t have to have a lousy home for first time home-buyers. You put your mind to it the first time low income home buyer can have just as nice a house as anyone else."

From "The Weekly Standard" - March '15

Beginning in the mid-1990s, under the grandiose title “The National Homeownership Strategy: Partners in the American Dream,” the Clinton administration used the “affordable housing goals” that Congress had imposed on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to increase the availability of mortgage credit to low-income borrowers. It also loosened the standards under the Community Reinvestment Act to pull insured depository institutions further into the low-income lending program.

At first, 30 percent of all mortgages purchased by Fannie and Freddie had to be loans made to borrowers at or below the median income in the places where they lived, but in 2000 Clinton’s HUD secretary, Andrew Cuomo, increased this quota to 50 percent. When the Bush administration took office in 2001, it had an opportunity to end this program, but it gave HUD a free hand, allowing the agency to raise the affordable housing quota to 55 percent in 2007, and doing nothing to cut back the scope of the Community Reinvestment Act.

In order to meet the growing quota for financing low-income borrowers, Fannie and Freddie had to relax their underwriting standards; that was the whole idea. By 2008, half of all mortgages—28 million loans—were subprime or otherwise low quality; of these, 74 percent were on the books of Fannie and Freddie and other government agencies or government-controlled entities. The funds that the government poured into the low-income housing market through Fannie and Freddie raised homeownership rates from 65 percent in 1995 to 69 percent in 2004, the highest rate ever recorded.

Bush took credit for this, but the huge expansion of subsidized mortgage funds also built the largest housing bubble in U.S. history. When the bubble began to deflate, it became clear why subprime mortgages had always before been a niche business—they defaulted in unprecedented numbers, driving down housing prices nationwide and weakening most major financial institutions. When Lehman Brothers failed in September 2008, a full-scale panic—the financial crisis—ensued.

Although Clinton began the process of forcing low mortgage underwriting standards, Bush continued and enhanced it.
