You know the/any President doesn't directly control the pay of their White House Staff, don't you? They are Civil Service jobs the number and salary is budgeted and controlled by the House which isn't inclined to do anything the President wants.

His aides, advisors and appointees are not civil servants. The White house staff, the ones who do the day to day stuff, the secret service and the military aides, yes. Those people are civil servants and they're paid according to their grade.

His staff (aides, advisors, etc.) should be covered under the SES (Senior Executive Service), if I remember correctly. It's pay scale is different than the GS (General Schedule) than most govt. workers fall under. You will see ES-1 instead of GS-1. The Judic. & Legis. Branches have a different pay scale as well.

His Czars and other appointed staff and non career aides may rate a pay grade but they're definitely not career civil servants is my point. And there is a pay gap in the White House.

There is a way to do it and it has been done as a "favor". They do not stay in that position but move around the govt.
None of us has shot off the mouth & said changes will be made in front of a group. But if the appointed staff has to be approved by Congress &/or receive security clearance, all bets are off. Let's be honest, how many people are driven to be a part of that fish bowl, Rep or Dem? How many people are willing to be on beckoned call at anytime? I can tell you, if you are going to ask the guy I see in the mirror when I shave or brush my teeth, you will be lucky with just a FUCK YOU!!
Which is probably why we have this situation over the past decades. I'm sure in both groups they can find someone qualified but will they be electable?

I didnt read through this entire thread but the title alone is bullshit. GW Bush was the absolute worst president in American history. If you look at failures vs accomplishments he wins that award hands down.
I don't get why the left isn't screaming the things Obama has done well? They seem to be cowering away rather than acknowledging the successes. The right refuses to admit he has done a decent job and the destruction of W has been corrected.

Some very valid point, especially on the social issues. I applaud him.
Some iffy points on the economic issues. Some of them he did good by just not getting involved. Others ended up on his favor in spite of his policies.
This is more or less taking from a meme. The assumption is that he was responsible for it all. Some yes, some not at all.
However, that overall point is valid. (I just think it gets watered down when you give credit where it isn't due)

Everything I highlighted is easily refuted and you pulled them out of your ass. The unemployment rate is artificially lowered because so many people have dropped out of the market and those jobs that have been filled are generally underpaying part time jobs. The actual rate of unemployment is probably closer to 18-20%.
Obamacare has consistently enjoyed a 30-40% approval rating and I don't know anyone except those who've been subsidized that haven't had their rates skyrocket. Yeah Bin Laden's dead but only because Obammy had his hand forced.
He has NOTHING to do with same sex marriage decisions except to pay it lip service. Every time gay marriage has been put to a vote it has been defeated and only by bypassing the will of the voting public by judicial legislation has it been accomplished. In Iowa all the supreme court justices who ruled in favor of it were booted from office in the next few elections. And Dear Leader only changed his stance on gay marriage after Crazy Uncle Joe opened his fucking yapper.
More corporations are moving their headquarters overseas because of his punitive measures and they're making a profit in spite of him.
There's THREE women on the supremes. Two of them were appointed by Stompy Foot, yes. But they were rammed through by a democrat majority despite being wholly unqualified.
And if you came up with your deficit claim by using common core math I understand. But in the real world he's added 40% to our debt and continues to ask for three trillion dollar budgets.
He antagonizes our closest allies and race relations are near an all time low and he consistently takes sides without letting the justice system do its job first.
