Poll: Obama 'worst president' since World War II

Read Fears of a Setting Sun. Great insights into the disillusionment of the ‘founders’.
I've heard of, heard it discussed, but never read it. I'll bump it up on the reading list.

Not commenting on a book I haven't read, but when I see many people post (not referring to this site, but we are probably not immune) about founding fathers or other people in history, the context is missing. Nothing and nobody is perfect (Julianne Moore, excepted). Why would anyone consider anything created as being created or anyone holistically "good" or "right".

Looking forward to your suggestion because I suspect it will seek to provide context. Thanks for the tip

In this we agree. Unfortunately, I've been casting my vote in the same way.
Tired of voting to the lesser of two who cares.
The last time, I walked into the voting place, I used the old South Park analogy, only out loud, like loud enough for people to turn and look at me, as I said, "now lets see, who shall I vote for. The giant douche, or the turd sandwich".

Sometimes I like to be an attention whore.

I used to love fucking with the people outside, soliciting votes, when they allowed it. Most of them would just give up, and admit they were just paid to hand out flyers, and had no idea of what the candidate stood for.

Many of the people voting have the same issue. Too bad they can’t pass out whiskey.

From “The Virgin Vote” by Jon Grinspan. Apparently the secret to a high voter turn out was to give first time voters booze.
(Ok, maybe that isn’t the exact point, but I bet that works)

I am in America, not of it.
Many moons ago in a medium sized town not far from me(where I was born) a politician was Mayor for almost as long as the first Daley was in Chicago at about the same time. My Mother used to talk about the big parties at his house on the night before elections and even bigger ones afterwards. Free Booze and $2.00 a vote. And in those times and knowing that guy, I believe it.

That is a very cool memory she shared. A slice of history.

It literally goes all the way down to the lowliest, most insignificant little local politician. They get a little taste of power, and they want more, and if that's not possible, they want to hang on to what they have as long as the public lets them suckle the teat All these little useless elected employees, got themselves a case of porn star dick. That's like whisky muscles, only for fat old conniving scumbags.
