Obama Without a Teleprompter!

Michele Bachmann says she fears the Soviet Union, and gets a thread stating how stupid she is. And everyone agrees that she is stupid.

In this video, Obama talks about the Soviet Union being a larger threat than Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela...

Just an observation. Combined, I don't think they have the I.Q. of a rock.

So I checked out what you were talking about and it turned out to be complete bullshit.

Obama, May 18: Strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries. That’s what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That’s what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That’s what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying we’re going to wipe you off the planet.

Obama didn’t say Iran is tiny – except in comparison to the once-huge Soviet Union. Iran’s population is estimated to be about 72.2 million by the Population Reference Bureau. Iran’s own statistics put it at 70,495,782 in 2006-2007. Either way, that’s about one-fourth of the 270 million people estimated to be living in the U.S.S.R. in 1982, according to various sources.

Nor did he say Iran doesn’t pose a serious threat, except in comparison to the former Soviet Union. And that’s a fact.

Whether it's on the left or on the right, hypocrisy is alive and well.

However one side has cornered the market on false equivalencies.

Whoops..!! :rofl2::1orglaugh

Maybe 'killer' should have just tried the strategy of misquoting it, not including the link then telling you to go try to find the quote...:1orglaugh

Now that's not something you'll get from Faux (Pas) "News"?

You wonder if some of these people can actually read or "..NOT". (haha) I suspect they can but it just happens to only be what they want to..:crying:

That's why I rarely click on links purporting to say something I reasonably suspect is bullshit unless I just want to :violent: their BS point.

It is almost certain to be some statement conveniently parsed to be out of context, an opinion from some Weakly Slandered hack (or equivalent) or just a flat out misinterpretation by the person who failed to comprehend their own link.

Ah shit! FactCheck.org strikes again. And yet another wingnut fantasy goes down in flames. When will they learn? When will they learn?

Rather than make up lies, why not just engage Obama on (actual) policy and propose alternate solutions to problems? Ya see, even when I don't agree with Obama, I can't side with those who continually make up lies and seem to live in an alternate reality. The only alternate reality that I want to be in involves a topless Christy Canyon rubbing my shoulders, while a naked Aria Giovanni dances for my pleasure. Outside of that fantasy, I try to stick to a world where the sky is blue and the sun sets in the west... and dinosaurs were around more than 5,000 years ago.

This is now the official sign for all politically based threads here at freeones, as everyone seems to have their heads shoved so far up their asses, they couldn't find the sky if you asked them to point. Please, spread it around.

Looks like the 2012 smear campaign has started on freeones. That would be the only reason why the OP has decided to bring up the old teleprompter business and brandish this little montage of minor gaffes.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bachmann and the other GOP'ers ran with this too. I think I'll just tune out for this one.

Fact: FO mods sit back in their chairs, rubbing their hands menacingly, observing all of the political arguements.

what the fuck you lookin at?
I had expectations for this. And holy fuck, this shit is hilarious!!!

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Just so I'm clear. We're not bashing Obama over the economy, unemployment, or the war on terror, but we're concerned that he can't speak without a prompter?

The fuck does that even matter? I dislike Obama as much as the next guy, but if you're going to attack him on something, at least make sure it matters. This is irrelevant bullshit. He's a great speaker, but if you make hundreds of televised speeches a year, you're bound to screw up a few of them. Is it really worth pointing out when he makes a mistake. What's the upside to that?

:stfu:

ban-one

Works for panties
Then how do you explain this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1-jasxb7NY

And that was for 86 minutes straight.

What's your point?

He has his speech and notes on the podium from the start, and pulls more notes from his pocket. Nothing wrong with that. Like I said, many politicians do that.

If your referring to the Q & A part, if you watch, he does look down at the podium from time to time, where we know he has notes and his speech, and at one point, while he is being asked a question, you see him re-arranging the papers on the podium.

Did he know the questions ahead of time? I don't know, but many politicians on both sides do.

Pretty entertaining explanation. I didn't watch what you're describing here but I'd be willing to bet if I did...your explanation would read even funnier.

Not quite the belly laugh I was looking for but certainly chuckle-worthy.

this guy doesn't wear a lapel pin!??!???
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

 R/C I'm disappointed in you.

You're letting him off the hook for not placing his hand over his heart during the National Anthem....proof positive of Georges' and Bachmann's assertions that he is unAmerican.:yesyes:
