Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Just one more time before we move on to tonight's home opener vs St. Louis

LOL....that is awesome! I would be seriously surprised if we see Elliott swinging his stick like that tonight (at least I sure hope not!) but the United Center should be rockin' and I'll be watchin'!!! Should be a great game....can't wait for 7:30!

Anybody see or know who the girl was that sang the national anthems at the Edmonton game? Rocket! Too bad EDM is playing with no goalie in net to ruin the night.

I am curious to know why there appeared to be some boos when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was introduced before the game.

Unless...

there is another cleaner video I could have posted but it goes on for 10:00 and gets annoying real quick.

Those weren't boos. It was "NUGE."

That's one of my pet peeves (along with the phrase "pet peeves"). I find it to be really stupid when a crowd thinks it's cool and clever to make boo-like sounds when "cheering" for someone with an "OOOOH" sound in their name. It's like, "Yeah, I'm supporting you, but I want you and other people to have to second guess what you're hearing, and then when they figure it out, I want them to think I'm cool and tough-sounding". There is a long list of athletes who have this situation.

Oh, well. I don't have much to complain about right now. The Blackhawks are starting 3-0-0 for the first time since the 1972-1973 season. It surprised me when I heard it had been that long.

Yeah the spotlight was all on Chicago last night although we did make a game of it at the end. Congrats on the win....we'll get you next time!

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Wow!! I can't believe how much this lockout has hurt everything!! no pun intended!! the players clearly didn't have a chance to get loose and get prepared for the intense rigorous demands of NHL hockey, guys are falling like flies! I am just using the Red wings as an example, but there defensive core was already thin due to Lidstrom retiring and Stuart wanting to play on the West Coast so he'd be closer to his family who live in the California area somewhere, well with all that to worry about, since the season has started they've lost J. Ericsson (day to day) , Ian White out 2-3 weeks after surgery to repair deep laceration in leg, Colaiacovo also suffered a shoulder injury against Columbus, that's 3 of top 6 or 7 already.. sheesh!!

Nobody had proper time to get ready for the season an now guys are falling out @ an alarming rate, I just read Steve Downie tore an ACL (out for the season) the guy might be a :douchebag: but he lit a fire under the avalanche when he got there last year, Carcillo is out in Chicago, the Leafs' lose Joffrey Lupul out indefinitely with a fractured forearm, the Flyers' Scott Hartnell Out Indefinitely with a foot injury, The Oilers' Ben Eager Diagnosed w/Concussion, The Rangers Asham sidelined with groin strain.. I am sure more guys are gonna get hurt, but I think the players are more prone to injury now when the body is not properly prepared to play @ the level needed in order to play in the NHL. :2 cents:

It's not a problem when you're a fan of the guy who's getting the cheer. Everyone in the garden knows they're saying "Looooooooch!" or "Tooooooooooookka". which reminds me.... I miss "Yooooooooooouk"....:(

What, no love for Mike Bossy and co.?

Hey I'm not taking anything away from the early 80s Islanders. Bossy, Gillies, Trottier, Potvin, Smith, Nystrom, Tonelli....these guys were great. But they've had their taste of glory and they have imbibed from Lord Stanley's Cup. My team has never had that experience so, until that happens, I have no love for anyone....Islanders included. So, once again, I say fuck 'em. Nothing personal mind you. I just don't give a shit about them. Make sense? You should feel the same, Scott....your Wild have never won anything. Why you would have some affection for the Islanders is puzzling. I hope they fail....miserably.

Indeed. I take a great amount of solace that, despite having never won the Stanley Cup, unlike the Blues the Canucks have at least won a game in the Finals.

I actually like the Range as well as they had if I remember correctly five Minnesotans on their squad last year in addition to my favorite player, Gabby.

But yeah when it's all said and done the Wild are who I support first and foremost (we could do a better job of bringing in more natives to the club though -Big Buff, Eric Johnson and Justin Faulk would be a nice start ;)).

You were right about St. Louis bringing a great game. The Central division matchups are usually known to be intense.

I see that tonight's Blues/Predators game was a shutout in St. Louis' favor.

Hawks improved to 4-0-0 with a hell of a comeback after falling behind Dallas by 2 in the 1st half of the game. Had to take it to OT but job done. Sharp, Toews, Hossa, Kane, Leddy...I really couldn't name a particular star in this team because they're all showing such improvement from last year. Patrick Kane, too, seems to be playing with more wisdom and patience. I'm sure some of it can be attributed to his time playing in Switzerland during the lockout. Much better "practice" than doing the regular drills.

Some strange names in the league leaders categories.

Goals.

Marleau
Hossa
Terasenko
Sullivan
Winnik

None of the usual suspects. And that's not a bad thing.

It's spelled Tarasenko, Diva. Get used to writing it. He's going to be a major star for years to come. Scored again last night....his 4th of the year and he's only a 21-year-old rookie.
