Eberle is sic. Anybody see that goal?
I was watching it live at The Pint in downtown Edmonton. What a goal!

Yes the Blues look to be a great team once again, and they'll be an elite team for many years to come, can they maintain that in the playoffs? that is yet to be seen yet again. Aside from a few left overs, the Red Wings are relatively young, with Lidstrom gone, Draper, Maltby, Holmstom, all gone now, there oldest players are Bertuzzi (37), Samuelson (36), Datsyuk & Cleary (34) Franzen (33), Kronwall & Zetterberg (32).. So aside from Bert & Samulson who only have a couple of years left @ best, the rest of the 30's gang have atleast 5 good years of productivity, and like I mentioned Detroit won't hesitate to make bold moves to rotate Elite talent to the team, some will come homegrown, some will come Via trade, and others will be added by UFA'a etc..
Detroit won't linger in mediocrity for very long, if @ all, so all you Red Wings haters relish it now, cuz Detroit will regroup and be amongst the top teams / the cream of the crop within a couple years @ most, there will NOT be a long stretch of Red Wings suffering, the Detroit fans won't tolerate losing or only being mediocre for an extended period of time, nor will Mr. Ilitch the Red Wings owner who does whatever it takes to get great again, which = spending the $$$$ which he has NO problem doing!! :2 cents:
Oh I don't disagree at all. However, if Saturday night's game is any indication, this is our chance to turn the tables for once. After years of withstanding the misery of being Detroit's bitch, you'll pardon me if I enjoy the moment.
BTW, NOBODY scored a prettier goal than Blues rookie Vladimir Tarasenko on Saturday. Check this out:

Thanks, Diva. It was a long, tough run for us for awhile but now it appears we may finally have the right pieces to at least make a deep run into the playoffs, if not win it all. I will say that, with the short season and little time between games, our goaltending tandem is the best in the NHL from my perspective and should pay big dividends down the stretch. I sure hope so....in our 45 years of existence we have NEVER won the Stanley Cup and haven't been to the finals since 1970. It would be a dream-come-true for me and countless other jaded (but-loyal) Blues fans out there. We play Nashville on their ice tonight so we'll see how the team responds after such an emotional opening-night win against your Wings.
The question is how they function in playoffs. They run the danger of being Washington - great regular season team, rubbish in the playoffs.
Hell, they ARE Washington for chrissakes. Their whole history is dotted with really good regular season records followed by a one-and-done playoff. Last season is a perfect example. Took out San Jose in the first round only to get swept by the buzzsaw LA Kings on their way to the Cup. That's what makes any Blues fan worry no matter what.
This is your year, buddy. This is your year.
I've decided, I'm routing for St. Louis this year.
I truly appreciate the support, pal, but aren't you the same guy who roots for Notre Dame?
And Dirk said unto him, "My team shall be your team. My curse shall be your curse."
OK we're fucked then....
Well, ND was undefeated in regular season, choked in playoffs. We might be living in parallel universes.
Wow. Took four rounds of shootout to get this one in the books. And Detroit is lucky to win it, as I think that first one should have been allowed.
