Much rather watch the USA than Canada. I actually enjoy the part of hockey where you are excited and angsty over how the came is going to turn out and whether or not your team is going to win. I don't really enjoy the part of hockey where you are excited and angsty over how many points a player is going to score in what are 75% of the time complete blowouts where the result is never in question.

Well technically the US are in that category with all the future NHL all stars on that team but they threw up a straight dud against Finland. I can say I will be watching the US/Canada game though on NYE. That's usually the best game of these IIHF events at all levels.

Ehhh I think Its all about respect, I love the Canadian National Anthem as much if not more then I love the American National Anthem!

On a sidenote @ 3PM I remembered about the winter classic & was pissed that I had missed the majority of the game thus far, so I checked the guide too see when I could record a rebroadcast during the commercials before the game, then as the teams were entering the ice they were making a BIG to-do about playing outdoors, blah, blah, blah. So I then realized the game had been delayed or pushed back and was actually just starting. thanks for small favors / miracles. lol.

Give me a break. Just because you play for Canada doesn't mean you get handed the gold medal every year. If this is how our juniors are going to respond to a challenge then they should not be wearing the maple leaf.

It's time to start teaching a whole lot younger what being a good loser looks like. It doesn't look like fighting - people say they're getting charged up for the next game. No they're fucking not. They're just venting their frustration.

Unfortunately being a good loser is a lesson that seems to only apply to other countries and not Canada, and that goes for the players and the fans. From the looks of it, I'm going to even say that we don't know how to be good winners, either.

If I was the Canadian coach and I saw Connelly sucker punch another player, I would bench him. For the rest of this game and the next. If you can't be an adult you don't deserve to represent your country... He might be frustrated, but you can't do that in hockey. If this was the NHL he would have been taken out the next time he touched the ice.

I completely agree. Where else in life, in any other profession, can you just up and sucker punch someone because you're frustrated, without repercussions? It can only happen in North American Hockey. And it shouldn't.

Ugh. I can feel the hateful "you're fucking wrong" posts already coming. It's my opinion people. Fighting has no part in this game.
