46 days until the start of the NFL regular season so today we honor Timothy McDonald. McDonald played safety for the Cardinals (out of St. Louis and Phoenix) and the San Francisco 49ers with whom he won a Super Bowl. He played in 191 games and recorded 1,263 tackles, 40 interceptions and 16 recovered fumbles. He was a six time Pro Bowler and is currently the Defensive Backs coach for the Buffalo Bills.

Hi Yak. Do you participate in FF leagues? If so, got any sleepers?

(This is also a test, to see if my comment gets deleted or not.)

We have a fantasy league at work. In terms of sleepers, I think Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess would a good option in PPR leagues. He is in the final year of his contract and Carolina has a long and proud history of guys balling out in contract years and then signing elsewhere for more money.

39 days until the start of the NFL regular season so we honor Larry Csonka. Csonka was a fullback for the Miami Dolphins during their two Super Bowl runs in the 1970s which includes the 1972 perfect season. He was voted Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl VIII and was a 5-time Pro Bowler. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.

As I type this, all 32 teams have started training camp and the Hall of Fame Game between the Bears and Ravens will take place this Thursday.

We're getting there.

32 days until the start of the NFL regular season so we honor Jim Brown. A regular number one entry on lists of the best football players ever, Jim Brown was an eight-time First team All-Pro, a feat which is made all the more impressive due to the fact that he only played nine seasons. He won an NFL Championship with the Cleveland Browns in 1964 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

How about NYG RB S. Barkley's first carry? Off Right Guard, for something like 40 yards. Yeah, buddy!!

The Panthers haven’t really been involved in a lot of this anthem disrespect but I am boycotting this year.
I love pro football and this is what these asshats have done to the best sport in the world. DJ Moore could be Rookie Of The Year and McCaffrey could have a breakout season.
I checked out highlights of the Panthers Bills game on YouTube last night. McCaffrey looked good and Cam looks confident and comfortable.
Oh well.

25 days remain until the return of NFL football so we honor Fred Biletnikoff. Biletnikoff was a four-time Pro Bowler and two time Super Bowl winner (II, XI) with the Oakland Raiders. He was also named MVP of Super Bowl XI. The award presented each season to the top wide receiver in college football bears his name. He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988.

18 days until NFL football once again graces our televisions so we honor Peyton Manning. One of the all-time greats at the sport, Manning currently holds the all-time record for passing yards (71,940) and touchdowns (539) as well as the single season record in those categories (5,477, 55). He won two Super Bowls and was named MVP of Super Bowl XLI. He will be eligible for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.

1998 NFL Draft #1 pick
2x Super Bowl champion (XLI, 50)
Super Bowl MVP (XLI)
14x Pro Bowl
7x First-team All-Pro
5x NFL MVP

11 days until the start of the 2018 NFL season so today we honor Norm Van Brocklin. Van Brocklin played quarterback and punter during his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles. He won two NFL Championships (1951, 1960) and was the NFL MVP in 1960. Van Brocklin was a 9-time Pro Bowler and holds the record for most passing yards in a single game with 554. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

Aaron Rodgers has signed a contract extension: "Four years at $33.5 million per year works out to $134 million, which, added to the two years and $41,662,500 (including workout and roster bonuses) remaining on Rodgers' current deal, gives him a six-year, $175,662,500 contract. That's just south of $30 million per season, but the guaranteed figure of over $100 million is really what matters here, and would indeed be record-breaking."

Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks is charged with insider trading. The Rams are reportedly close to a deal with Aaron Donald.

About Mack: *I* don't see what the big deal is, giving up two first-rounders. HE WAS THE OVERALL #5 PICK WHEN HE CAME OUT! So, CHI would have had to do the same to get him to begin with. It is paying a "premium" of a second, first-round pick, for KNOWING they have an All-Pro Player. Kirk Cousins just got a major headache, two games a year.

Official Khalil Mack trade terms:
Bears get: Khalil Mack, a 2020 second-round round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round pick.

Raiders get: 2019 first-round pick, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2019 sixth-round pick.

Bears gave up a lot but if Mitch Trubisky makes a Carson Wentz type leap forward in play from rookie to second year, adding Khalil Mack to a team which quietly was a top-10 unit a year ago could be really interesting. Now we wait for details of Mack's new contract which should rival the one Aaron Donald received but days ago.
