According to this, David Tepper, founder of Appaloosa Management, has finalized a deal to purchase the Carolina Panthers for between 2.1 and 2.5 billion dollars. Mr. Tepper is worth 11 billion dollars and keeps a pair of brass testicles in his office. They are described as "Cartoonishly huge and grotesquely veiny, they are affixed to a plaque inscribed with the words THE MOST VALUABLE SET OF ALL TIME".

Mr. Tepper: Please keep the team in the Carolinas and unwanted sexual advances toward female employees to an appropriate minimum.

Tepper would have to get league approval to move the team. This isn’t 1984 and the team packs up in the middle of the night.
I suspect part of the agreement is keeping the team in the Carolinas. They receive tremendous support here. I like sharing the team with North and South Carolina. It makes for a stronger fan base. We could change their name to the Carolina Carowinds.

Carolina Schizophrenics would be more apt if you are following them.

The person displaying mental illness around here is you. Just ad hominem attacks on any thread or any topic.
Mostly to bait. When was your last evaluation? You seem overdue.

I have been derelict in my duties and did not post anything about Carolina's selection of Maryland WR DJ Moore in the recent draft. I really like this pick. He put up great numbers with multiple sub-standard quarterbacks. Will stretch the field for the Panthers similar to Ted Ginn's role in 2015.

99 days until football season. 99 is the number worn by Mark Gastineau and JJ Watt, the only two players to have multiple seasons with more than 20 sacks (unofficial in Gastineau's case).

83 days until the return of NFL football so today we honor Andre Reed, Hall of Fame receiver for the Buffalo Bills. He was an instrumental piece in Buffalo's remarkable run of four straight Super Bowl appearances.

Jameis Winston to be suspended for the first three games of the season for allegedly groping an Uber driver.

The Bucs first three games of the season are also the toughtest of the Super Bowl era when factoring in the team's previous season's record:

Week 1 at Saints (11-5)
Week 2 vs Eagles (13-3)
Week 3 vs Steelers (13-3)

Not the best look for a guy who drafted with a dark cloud of sexual assault allegations looming over his head.

75 days until kickoff so we are honoring "Mean" Joe Greene of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Greene was a dominant force on the equally dominant Steel Curtain defense which helped the Steelers win four Super Bowls in the 1970s. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986.

69 days until football season so we honor Jared Allen, one of the all-time greats at rushing the passer who terrorized quarterbacks while playing for the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers.

^ I'm sure it will be much worse than what we saw in 2011. Also like 2011, the players will ultimately cave because it will always be easier for 32 billionaires to be on the same page than the player's union to present a united front. The average NFL career is about three years and the marginal guys are not going to sacrifice a year of their prime earning time so guys down the line can get a better deal. Gurley is playing on a first round contract so he is in better financial position to take these kind of stands than a guy selected in the fourth round who plays guard and has a training camp battle for his job every year.

It is alleged that LeSean "Shady" McCoy assaulted or financed the assault of ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon. Still at the he-said she-said and haven't really seen hard evidence one way or another. If her account of the event is anywhere near accurate that will likely spell the end of McCoy's career.

New Panthers owner David Tepper is apparently contractually obligated to leave the statue of Jerry Richardson up. Last month, the NFL released the findings of its investigation which concluded that Richardson did engage in inappropriate workplace conduct. Kinda awkward.

53 days until the start of the NFL regular season so today we honor Harry Carson. Carson was a member the New York Giants Big Blue Wrecking Crew defense and won Super Bowl with the team in 1986. He was a 9-time Pro Bowler and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
