Panthers were terrible yesterday. Tampa played well but there were certainly opportunities for Carolina to win that game if they had done anything more than provide fodder a blooper real. This weekend, an angry and re-focused New Orleans team comes to Charlotte. Won't that be delightful.

The Sheriff looked awesome tonight. :)

It was great to see him play at a high level again. Big win for Denver to start the year.

Watching Peyton play for someone other than the Colts was kind of like seeing an exgirlfriend for the first time, with another guy.

However, onwards and upwards. Good work on his part.

Me too since they were my survivor pool pick.

That is a very succinct way of putting it. :crying:

I even had tears in my eyes during his post game interview. I hope he has a great year in Denver and continues to perform at a high level. But most importantly, I hope he stays healthy.

Manning should play for the Cowboys though. I think he could bring the team to greatness. In any case, glad the Boys beat the Giants.

Knowing the leadership qualities that Manning possesses, it would be really interesting to watch that unfold in Dallas. The only downside to Manning in Dallas would be how ESPN would shove "MANNING VS. MANNING" down our throats for at least two weeks out of the season.

Alex Smith was essentially flawless. Frank Gore ran wild through the Packers defense. Late in the Green Bay Packers' loss to the San Francisco 49ers, we thought the Packers were lucky just to be in the game.

"We beat ourselves. They really didn't beat us," cornerback Jarrett Bush said after the game, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "We just have to hunker down and make sure we're gap sound and get on the same page. Obviously, small things being miscommunicated on the field become big things, so they exploited us and that's what happened."

Oh boy. If any of this sounds familiar, let's replay some comments from Clay Matthews this offseason about Green Bay's playoff loss to the New York Giants.

"The fact is, (the Giants) didn't beat us; we beat ourselves," Matthews told Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports.

Give us a break. The Giants and 49ers pushed the Packers around. Green Bay has lost three of its last five games. Their defense was generally awful for all of last season.

Many of the Packers -- especially the team's offense -- gave the 49ers their due credit. But there appears to be a segment of the Packers defense that remains in denial about their consistently poor play. The attitude that no other team can actually beat the Packers might be part of the problem

lol. STFU Jarrett Bush.

Baltimore gave the moment of silence for Art Modell that Cleveland didn't. It was a short moment. Very short. Those in charge must've figured they couldn't expect people to be silent for longer than 5 seconds. "...a moment of silence blablabla Art Modell.....(5 or 6 seconds)....Thank you..."

I know it's extremely early, but Baltimore's offence looks a lot better. More creativity at least. Ravendude must be liking it!

Ahhh, the first week of the NFL season, also known as National Jump to Conclusions Week.

It was nice to see football on television again.

Mark Sanchez didn't suck

Broncos... Yeah! My team, and my team forever!!! Manning is the man.
