NFL '11 Season Thread

this has been a dreadful game so far. When the penalties are all the excitement, its just not fun to watch. there have been more fights than touchdowns scored

Gawd... Denver is fucking garbage. People really need to quit acting like Orton is that much fucking better than Tebow. That, like the Broncos, is bullshit.

The Falcons played like a bunch of girls, just saying, but Go Falcons..

Aren't you the dood who likes she-males anyway?:dunno: If so, wouldn't that be right up your f(l)ag-pole?:1orglaugh

Just saying...hard to pass that one up.

ive been feeling like a lone voice in not making Kyle Orton out to be a football god in Denver. He has skills, but he doesnt have Win in him. Last season i think will prove to be a once in a lifetime thing for Kyle Orton

I've said it a million times... Orton is a fantastic small-play QB. He cannot make the big plays, as evidenced by the last drive. First and goal at the six... 3 and out including a sack on 3rd down. Nobody can tell me that Tebow (who is a fantastic big-play QB) wouldn't have found a way to get in the end zone.

Ummm...I'm not sure what that is really supposed to mean. :dunno: That almost as bad as saying a player can't win because they lack grit or swagger even though they are good. That is unless you really believe that winner sauce is some kind of actual thing that helps people win.

I don't know why people are basing Orton. If the Broncos could run the ball, or stop the run, they'd be winning this game. But of course, the Broncos are still one dimensional.

Orton is actually one of the few bright spots for the Broncos... which is sad.

It means Orton cannot make winning plays. When your team needs the big plays to win the game, you won't get them from him. When you don't need them, that's when he shines, but in the big game or in comeback situations... not his thing.

Romo is the same way.

Damn, Cam Newton played on helluva game today. Too bad they lost. You could see the Cardinals defense starting to get frustrated at the end by the fact that he tore their asses to shreds in his NFL debut game.

......oh, and Romo still blows!

Well, it looks like Carolina has found their QB and a new fantasy monster has been born.

It was one game.....against the Cardinals. Did y'all see the breakdowns the Cards defense had?

Chiefs lose Eric Berry for the season, big blow to their defense..and esp. to their secondary where they will be lost without him.

That really sucks, and I'm a Raiders fan. At least it won't really matter, they look like garbage.

Btw 1-0! Can't remember the last time that happened!

Yup. And I saw a rookie qb take advantage of it. Whens the last time Steve Smith was a relevant wr?? Newton impressed me.

Newton was impressive. I don't give a damn what NFL team you play against as a rookie, when you throw for over 400 yards, you are doing some things. Say what you want, but the Cards are still a pro fuckin' team. With that being said, I'd like to go out on a limb by predicting Cam would have less than 400 yard against GB.

Just a gut feeling.

My sentiments exactly. They may be a god awful team, but they are still pros and should have taken the opportunity to put a rookie QB in his place. Instead, they laid down and let him torch their ass in his debut. He is gonna struggle no doubt as all rookie QBs do. Nevertheless, that was a good start for him.
