NFL '10/'11 Season Thread.

Word is Cincinnati won't be bringing back Palmer or Ocho Cinqo when their contracts are up. I believe Ocho Cinqo is done this year and Palmer the following.

Good for the Bengals. Who couldn't stand to lose a drama queen WR (well now they have 2 with OT) and a slacker QB?:2 cents:

If the Broncos lose to the Rams next week, I think Josh McDaniels is ghost too!:wave2:

It makes one wonder what happened to Palmer. At one time about five years ago he was right behind Manning and Brady for top quarterback in the league, and then his performances just plummeted. I know he got injured, but even that doesn't seem to cover the whole reason he has been as bad as he has been recently.

Last year's suprising season was a bad thing in disguise, cuz it instilled false hope and delaying them blowing up the team by a couple of seasons. Since starting last year 7-2, they are 5-13 since.

I was kind of thinking this too, but I was actually looking at the fact that if Garrett continues to do well in Dallas and secures that job permanently, the Cowboys will no longer be in the market for either Cowher or Gruden (specifically Gruden), and that may lead Denver to be more inclined to dump McDaniels and go after Gruden, since Gruden has consistently been Tim Tebow's biggest supporter by far.

Cincy does need to partially blow up the team. Palmer looks like he has an injury he is hiding. but there defense is horrid the might end up picking first at the rate they are playing.

I'd take Palmer in San Fran. He's not a top QB anymore, but there is plenty of worse. 3 of them play for San Fran right now. Come home Carson!!

If he was younger that might be viable, but Palmer is also getting to the point where age will probably start becoming a factor on top of his performance drop already. By the time San Francisco (or a team like the Raiders) has a chance to build it's team up to where they are championship caliber I don't think Palmer will really be a big part of that if they got him. At best they might get him before that to mentor a new good quarterback they go out and get. I don't see Palmer willing to take washed up veteran type money where he will have to battle with somebody else in a year or two for the starting position after arriving at a new team...yet. That would be the only situation I would bring in Palmer if I ran a team like that. Maybe if they believed Palmer had a chance of turning it around and performing like he did years ago I could see it, but that's very unlikely to happen.

D-Rock i agree with you. Carson is aging poorly,i think the knee, elbow and shoulder injuries are starting to really catch up. sad because at one point he was about to join the elite quarterbacks.
The Raiders have quarterbacks, once the receivers actually improve you will be able to tell.
the 49ers need to clean the coaching house first but yeah the really need to draft a quarterback this year

What happened to him is the real one showed up.

he plays with babies in cinny, that's the problem

Fixed.

He's not hiding....the real Palmer is being exposed. He's a slacker and a bust really but has had allot of players around him to carry him and shield his slacking.

This is the same guy we saw at USC until Carroll stacked allot of talent around him and got in his lazy ass.

I've never been impressed with Palmer even when he was playing his so called 'best'.

In a few more days I can sense TO breaking out with another one of his TO over team rants and the Bengals start to go from circling the drain to down it.
