NFL '10/'11 Season Thread.

 Fucking Cowboys, you need a tackle and you draft a WR with personal issues. The only good thing is that should be able to get rid of Williams now. Damn it, why am I still a Cowboys fan?

Bills got a good one in Spiller but they needed help in other spots more

lol at dumb ass Denver. A QB? Really? Tebow over Clausen at that?

...got fingers crossed for Golden Tate, Arrelious Benn or Everson Griffen, Sergio Kindle in Carolina.

That Tebow move can only be described with one word. . . .EPIC!!! No one saw that shit coming. I saw it on ESPN and Mel Kiper Jr.'s face damn near hit the floor LOL!

The fact that there are still guys left who were thought to be potential first rounders just goes to show how deep this draft is. Man, I still can't believe Sergio Kindle is still on the table. I was right about the order of the draft up until the Raiders threw that damn curve ball at number 8 by picking Rolando McClain.

I think this draft will be remembered for who wasn't taken than for who was. Or, it will be remembered as the State of Oklahoma's draft. What happened to rwill? Maybe he's dancing in the streets? Oklahoma pretty much pwned this draft.

No Trojan taken in the first round pretty much breaks a streak of consecutive years of having a player taken in the 1st round (maybe at 18 or 19 years?). :(

I was shocked when the Saints passed on Taylor Mays or Sergio Kindle  My gawd Sergio Kindle practically beat Bama by himself in the MNC! He will be the next Clay Matthews for some team. I Guarendamntee that shit. I guess Taylor Mays's stock has plummeted bad. I was thinking the Jets or the Patriots might grab him.

Where's Diva? Did the Niners just screw themselves? 2 giant OL? Better hope they pan out immediately!

Why did the Broncos bother to trade up at the end to get Tebow? That puzzled me. I thought Tebow would've fallen right to them and the trade was unnecessary at the end.

I guess we will learn this season if the scouts really know their shit. Teams appeared to go in the "fill needs" rather than the "take the best player" approach.

I think the Lions are on their up bigtime. The Dolphins pretty much misfired, I think... The guy they drafted looks really slow.

Pete Carroll really made a bold choice going for Earl Thomas when the hometown hero USC hero was there -- Taylor Mays. That stung me a bit. I hope Taylor Mays finds his way onto Pete's beloved 49ers and ~haunts~ the seahawks forever!

TR I hear what you are saying here but I really felt this draft was weak and all the teams did what the had to do and that was to fill their roster for the time being and hit their weak area like the 49ers who went after the OL early I thought everyone even the Raiders made decent picks:glugglug:Great Post:thumbsup:

I agree with you. Talent-wise, this looks like a weak draft, at least that's my gut feeling at this point. Gresham to Cincy could be the pick of the draft. They said Jahvid Best ran a 4.34 at the combine  holy shit that's fast. The Lambs have become THE LIONS again. Suh will atleast be the next Warren Sapp if not Albert Haynesworth. If Best pans out, the Lions are back.

I am SOOO hoping that Dez Bryant has a nice, long, nasty contract holdout and misses the season :thefinger

I think the Raiders pick was very solid and thats the best you could hope from over there. I thought for sure Clausen would end up with the Vikings but it seems that Favre will play until hes 89. The Niners had a pretty good draft, but it looks like they think its still the 70's and 80's where a good defense and a good running game will be a winning formula, too bad its a passing league now. And this is Alex Smith's last fucking chance to show that he can be a good QB. Hell the 49ers will run it 30 times a game and throw it about 5 times, no way anybody can screw that up.

I love it. 49er front office went and got the guy they wanted in Anthony Davis, who I think has the most upside of any OT in the draft. He has issues with weight and motivation, but that's why we have Singletary. :D

Iupati is the best guard in the draft too. If these two guys pan out, along with Joe Staley, we'll have a top 3 O-Line for years to come. No more having Baas and Snyder sitting there like turnstiles while DT's blow past them.

Our 3rd down conversion rate was 29% last year. These guys will vastly improve that statistic and will give our D a bit more rest. If we had a couple 3rd down conversions last year, we would have beat Houston, Green Bay, maybe Indy and definitely Minnesota. Instead, we give the ball to Favre and end up on highlight reels for the rest of the season.

I would have loved to get a guy like Earl Thomas, Joe Haden or Kyle Wilson, but this draft is deep for CB and I think we'll get some combination of Perrish Cox/Joe Murphy/Nate Allen in the 2nd/3rd round.

I am hoping we can sign Atogwe when free agency starts too. :)

This is it for Smith. He has the weapons. He's going to have the protection. He needs to get it done or he's done. The thing that bugs me though, the 49ers are going to be in the playoffs this year. 100% guarenteed. Seattle sucks. St Louis sucks and Arizona lost everybody. We're winning the division. If Smith shits the bed, I don't want our playoff appearance to hide that fact. We'll make the playoffs in spite of him, not because of him. If he plays great (which I think he will) than sweet. If he sucks, time for Nate Davis to get some reps. He's the 2nd coming of McNabb, but more accurate and a bigger arm. And if the 49ers aren't sold on him either, next year is the year to draft a QB. Jacoby Harris, Nathan Enderle, Kellen Moore, Ryan Mallett, Case Keenum, Andy Dalton, Greg McElroy and Jake Locker are all eligible next season.

I think Singletary is going to run a more balanced offense. He wants a power running game, but he's not so naive that he won't pass the ball. Smith had success last year in the shotgun and Sing will continue with that. Crabtree and Davis are two of our biggest play makers. He has to get the ball in their hands, and he will.

Anyway.

Tebow to Denver? In the 1st round? McDaniels must be trying to get fired. :1orglaugh I like what he's doing though. Building a class organization with people that will give 100% and getting rid of the whiners. I hope McDaniels is around long enough to see his dream come to fruition.

I think the Vikings will take Clausen with their pick in the 2nd. And if they don't, Clausen won't fall past Oakland. Guarenteed.

Anybody else think San Diego reached for Ryan Matthews?

Lots of quality players left for round 2. Sergio Kindle, Taylor Mays, Rob Gronkowski, Jonathan Dwyer, Thaddeus Gibson, Bruce Campbell etc.

It is bed time. :wave2:

since the Raiders needed a Linebacker Mcclain is a good pick. the true reach belongs to Jacksonville no way Tyson Alalu is a first round pick. Ryan Mathews wasn't overdrafted. Funny thing this a weak draft in qb's but strong in defenders so some teams will be getting first round talents today

Really a holdout I don't see that for the simpile reason he missed the last ten games of his college career and he is looking to prove him self

Damn skippy that is just what Anthony Davis needs a a coach like Singletary to light a fire under him

Now I'm thinking if the 49ers can get a few more good picks and maybe a late still they could really do damage in the NFC West

Not really they need a bigger back don't get me wrong Sproles is good but now they have a little thunder with their lightning

well the texans got kareem jackson from alabama, not too bad. i just hope they draft gerhart in the second.

Here, here. Not a flashy pick, but he should be able to start against the Colts in September. I was hoping they would draft a corner in the 1st and they didn't disappoint.
