NFL '09/'10 Season Thread

Wow...the Patriots have balls of steel and brains of cement..I loved the gutsy call at the end to win the game, but what kind of fucking crap playcall was that? Why not go with Randy on 4th? Geez.....

Pats blew the game...Indy gutted out the win.

As epic a choke as.....the time the gaffed in the AFC Champ game....

What a fucking disastrous collage of boneheaded plays down the stretch for the Pats....

Bill....do your team a favor and go back with the dingy, grey hoody....

That worked out perfectly for me. I got what I needed from Brady and Moss, and Indy gets the win.

All-time dumb from Bill Belichick. :thefinger

Exactly. Get the hoody ready. We wouldn't fear Darth Vader if not for the helmet...Bellichick, bring back the hoodie.

I swear...when he busted out the red, sawed off hoody against the Giants in the SB.....I knew they weren't going to win.

I mean this guy has a chance to go undefeated in the regular season, win a SB in the process and for the SB he christens a different hoody???? He picks that game to switch a routine???:confused:

To be fair I don't entirely blame Billichick for wanting to go for it there and in some ways can see why he would. When you have the Patriots offense there is a good change you will pick up the first down, the Patriots had been moving the ball good all game, you have Manning and the Colts on the other side of the ball, and the Colts drove down the field just a little bit earlier. I can see him thinking that if they punted there was a good chance Manning would probably just drive the 60 or 70 yards needed (instead of the short distance he ended up needing), but if you could pick up that first down the game was practically over. I think people are blaming him for the outcome of the decision and not the quality of the decision, which isn't the best for evaluating a decision, and if it would have worked out people would be proclaiming how great it was. He is one of the few people that has the credit to even make those kinds of decisions.

Between that and the call at the end of the Jets/Jags game we had a couple of really ballsy calls yesterday.

Too bad they both didn't work.

The 4th down call with 2 min to go, up by 6, on your own 28 by Belichick is one of the worst craziest calls I have ever seen. You have to punt there and force Manning to drive the probably 70 yards or so he would have had too.He had thrown 2 interceptions earlier.

Some would say Belichick was just showing he had confidence in his offense could get the 1st down but I would say he just was showing he has little confidence in his defense.I'm glad the call backfired on the Pats,it was such a crazy against all the percentages call it was fitting they lost for trying it.

i agree with the call he was right...first down or a L..give manning 2 minutes.....from anywhere on the field to win with a score.......you lose.............the way to stop him...is get the first down...they gambled and lost....but i would have done the same thing= good call bad outcome

i would say he has lot of confidence in peyton manning ...70 or 30.......if manning got the ball back with 2 minutes it was over for ANY defence....i was thinking damn...might as well go for it.......if manning gets the ball back its over.......and they did....good call bad results
