No, he's not a scorer, but he can be - I believe he's more here to dish it. But they were saying of all the players in the league ATM Rubio is one of a very small handful that could get a quadruple double some day. That would be cool if he could some how pull that off.

Yeah that would be cool...Hopefully when K.Love finally gets healthy, the T-Wolves can do some damage in that Northwest Division !

Amazingly, I had a few dollars riding on Chicago to pull out the upset, so I am feeling pretty good right now...plus the Celtics pulled a rabbit out of the hat tonight against Cleveland with the last second victory...so yeah a pretty good night all around !

Great job by My Celtics with DC's own Jeff Green leading the way with 34 pts !....I don't know how much noise we can make this year in the playoffs with our somewhat thin roster, and our weak front line ranked 29th in the league in rebounding...but the defending champs Miami are ranked 30th in rebounding so I guess anything is possible !

I was wondering if they would let Milwuakee pass them in the standings so they could get Miami 1st round. I know it sounds crazy, but if Boston has any chance of beating Miami, you'd think their best chance would be in the 1st round before they had to go through New York or Indiana.

I think how they rested KG and Pierce in different spots down the stretch indicated to me that they may not have necessarily been looking for the Miami match-up but, I think they definately weren't worried if Milwaukee did pass us and we did get that 1-8 matchup.

I think the Celtics could beat the Knicks, The Pacers, or the Heat. I picked the Knicks to get passed the Heat to the Finals this year, but they have been very inconsistant, although they have played a little better lately with a good win against OKC today. But the Celtics can play with anybody as long as we play real Celtic defense and rebound the ball. But we haven't been great in either of those 2 areas this year, and we have dropped alot of games because of it.

We did pick up this kid Randolph from Duke to come in and put in some work on the glass like a Birdman for Miami, or Psycho T for Indiana, so hopefully that will help a little bit, but if we don't get WAY better with our Defense and Rebounding in the playoffs, then match-ups won't matter much because we will probably loose to whomever we play.

Right now the Celtics are playing my home team J.Wall and the Wiz who have been playing well lately, so we'll see what kind of effort the Celtics put forth as we gear up for the playoffs.

Kobe out for the season !....tough break for Lakers fans although I could see this coming by how he was being utilized since his ankle sprang. Alot of people are blaming D'Antoni for allowing Kobe to dictate playing time to him, rather than the coach making a decision on minutes to save a player from himself, much like the RG3/ Shanahan situation.

In any event, I've blown my achilles 3 times (2 on the left once on the right) playing b-ball...It can be a rather gruesome injury, but he should definately make a full recovery (although if I were him I'd retire). The toughest part in rehabbing the achilles is trusting it fully, because unlike a knee or some other injuries, there is no indication as to when an achilles will blow, it just happens, it feels like somebody hits you on the back of your leg with a baseball bat...its so sudden and unexpected, the normal reaction is to see who kicked or hit you ..... the injury is not related to a particular move or misstep, so when rehabbing it, you don't know what not to do to keep from re-injuring it...it can be very frustrating.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Jim Buss era Lakers with Howard a free-agent this summer, and Kobe set to make 30 million next year and most likely won't even play untill almost Xmas. Not to mention Nash who can't seem to stay on the court, and Gasol who D'Antoni doesn't seem to want.

The Lakers organization certainly has some tough decsions to make going forward, because, at some point, they are going to have to commit to start buliding the team around Dwight, if they are going to convince him to stay in LA.

Karma's a bitch.

^ Oh he had it coming? Does it suck to be so angry at one player?

I don't know where this leaves L.A. On one hand, Kobe gone hurts their chances of keeping Dwight, but on the other, Dwight could see this as his chance to make it his team.

As far as this year goes, I'd imagine D'Antoni will run a smoother system but I doubt he utilizes his bigs properly and still won't play D. They'll be swept regardless of who they play.

I'd still like a year with Pau and Dwight with a different coach. They should compliment each other.

If Kobes contract wasn't a killer before, what now?

You know what I'm talking about.

San Antonio clinches the division for the third year in a row!

Spurs recently waived capt. jack who always plays big in the playoffs and won a championship with San Antonio...Seems like a personal ego driven decision by Pop and not a decision made for the best interest of the team.

Seems like a bad move and the type of thing that can divide a team and destroy team chemistry...I wouldn't be surprised if they make an early exit from the playoffs...

Looks like maybe the end of an era in San Antonio, just as in Boston and LA.

They did it to make room for Tracy McGrady.

If L.A beats Houston tonight, they'd finish 7th and get a matchup with S.A. If the Lakers have a chance against anybody, it's against the Spurs. Especially now that Tracy (first round exit) McGrady is playing for them.

Solid win by L.A tonight!! I get the matchup with the Spurs I wanted and we get to see Harden go at his old team.

OKC vs Houston
San Antonio vs L.A
Denver vs Golden State
L.A.C vs Memphis

Miami vs Milwaukee
New York vs Boston
Indiana vs Atlanta
Brooklyn vs Chicago

Knicks and Nuggets could make things interesting, but I really expect to see Heat/Thunder again.

I wouldn't say that the Spurs waived Jackson to make way for Tracy...I think Jacskon complained about wanting more playing time (which he probably should have gotten esp. with Diaw out) and Pop waived him to make a point about doing things "the Spurs way"...that's a nasty way to treat a guy who helped you win a championship, and who is one of the most clutch play-off performers in the league. He will definately be missed.

I think Tracy McGrady is a decent pick-up given the circumstances, but the Spurs are definately vulnerable, especially if Ginobli isn't 100%.. They'll have their hand full with your Lakers who are admittedly playing better (although I still hate them with a passion), and the Spurs adding the curse of "one and done" McGrady will definately make this series especially interesting to watch !

My picks before the season were Knicks/Clippers for the finals...I knew they would both be underdogs to make it that far and I still think that, but I'm sticking with them...I'm not expecting much from my Celtics, but that is sometimes when they play their best, so we'll see what they can do...although I don't know if ANYBODY can beat the Heat this year as well as they are playing right now.

Predictions:

OKC over Houston
San Antonio over Lakers (sweep)
Denver over Golden State (could be very interesting)
Memphis over Clippers

Miami over Milwaukee (sweep)
Boston over New York (upset)
Indiana over Atlanta
Brooklyn over Chicago

Finals:

Miami over OKC (again, not as good a series this year though, probably a sweep)

MVP: LeBron James (Miami; no-brainer)
Rookie of the Year: Damian Lillard (Portland; also a no-brainer)
Sixth Man of the Year: J.R. Smith (New York; seriously, what an amazing season!)
Defensive Player of the Year: Marc Gasol (Memphis; there are a lot of candidates (Dwight Howard, Serge Ibaka, Tim Duncan, Joakim Noah, Andre Igoudala, LeBron James, etc.), and my pick wouldn't be Gasol, but that's my prediction; I think my pick would be Dwight Howard; his defensive rebounding is astounding, he takes away so many scoring opportunities from his opponents with that and with blocking shots; I may not like him much, but he's the most impactful player on the defensive end in the world, in my opinion)
Most Improved Player: who cares?
Coach of the Year: Mike Woodson (New York; this is a tough one too, and I'm not sure who I would pick; Woodson would be in the mix because he worked with an odd assortment of old players and got the most anyone could've possibly gotten out of them; Gregg Popovich, George Karl, and Erik Spoelstra would have to be in the mix as well)
