The molestation accusations will always tarnish his legacy, but I chose to reflect on his amazing musical career and how he changed music the world over. He's a legend in the US and around the world, and his name will forever be uttered in the same sentence as John Lennon and Elvis. What he did to those kids was inexcusable but let's not use it against him on the day that he died. Have a little respect for a Legend who just passed away ok?

It severely bothers me that the news of MJ passing has stopped the world in such a way....tells alot about our society when the passing of an ex-entertainer (lets face it - he hasn't put out music in years. All he's been the last ten yrs is just a media plug) upsets people more than the war overseas, children being abducted and molested in our own communities, the 15 million children who die every year from starvation. But who cares about those things? Jon and Kate got divorced! Mj is dead! Oooh I bet Lohan will overdose next week and Will.I.Am will get revenge on Perez and assrape him!

1 - his broken childhood,
2 - being forced to flee the country giving up Never-land before he got busted for child molestation.
3 - his painful breakup with Emanuel Lewis.
4 - and he's dead.
All of that makes it OK to inflict emotional damage on children.
Ike Turner didn't get away with smacking Tina Around and he was far more talented.

It's my job to state the blatantly obvious, hence - my name.
Hmmmm....I'm going to try to not be overly malicious and just state my opinions. Michael Jackson was a very highly overrated singer that made a couple of ok songs way back at the start of the eighties. He wasn't great and he definitely wasn't a legend. It could be argued that Michael Jackson wasn't even good. He doesn't deserve to be compared to Elvis or any of the other legends of music past like people are doing now (While maybe a little overrated Elvis actually created some decent music throughout his life and was popular until the time he died.) He's been a non-entity in the music world for decades now. He never really revolutionized anything. He was a social misfit, and rightfully so. He obviously had psychological issues. Based on the evidence I have heard I think he probably did molest children. His staying in the news for the past 25 years is basically a function of tabloids chasing him around everywhere well past the point it wasn't even logical for them to do so anymore, and for some strange reason a lot of foreign people liked him. (Until he eventually fell out of favor with even many of them.)
With all that said I do feel a little sorry for him. I feel sorry his life was screwed up so badly for him. I feel sorry that he was a tool for his family to make money off of him for so long, and for them basically using him instead of trying to rise a nice stable person. Usually this is where I would feel sympathy for his family and the people he left behind like most people that die, but since his family is a big part of the reason his life got so screwed up I can't really feel sorry for them. Of course in the end everybody also has to take responsibility for their own actions.
The best thing I can really say and still be honest is that I wish he would have lived a different life than the one he did, one that had meaning and people around him that actually cared about him.
