Something else to try with salmon...

At a grill store, they sometimes sell cedar planks. Soak it really well (24hrs is best) and then put your salmon on it. Get a nice smokey cedar salmon.

yeah ive done that one before but sometimes the cedar taste is too strong for me. Hey everyone did you know that soon I am going to be having Petra's cinamon rolls in person???she lures me with them but it's something else she is after....

i don't mind goulash but certainly don't spend time to make it and I don't crave it. Borscht is not my thing. I have been to eastern europe and their food to measide from a few things is just awful for me.

the street foods in Prague were really good and the same for Budapest but that was about it.

Haven't been here for a while. Several things to mention.

1. I hate you Mariah for having so many fresh local things that I can't get. It just ain't fair.

2. The eggs with red flakes with parsley and oregano looks like Christmas.

3. Ariel needs to post here more. Nice blog. I can't understand why many of us find baking such a bitch when it is supposed to be the simplest way of cooking.

4. Do you buy your hog from the boat and clean it yourself? That's gotta be lots of work.

5. Do really trust Petra if she can lure you with cinnamon buns? I don't know her as well as you do but please step cautiously.

I buy the snapper and then pay them to clean it for me. I can clean fish which you will see in a new video coming up :)

Petra is definitely to be weary of, but I shall tread lightly and keep my senses in tune :)

Baking is too precise. I prefer the "più o meno come è necessario" or translated from Italian to English "as much or as little as is needed" mentality. I can make entire meals without ever needing a measuring cup. I have tremendous respect for it as it takes great dedication. I emailed her and asked her to and she has yet to reply to me so we'll see.

I don't have a problem with bread, but cakes and pastries get the better of me. That is much more of a science, where exact measurements are needed, and I just haven't got the touch. I, like Mariah, like to put in what look right to my eye and then taste and adjust as required.

I'm watching some specialist videos
Today's luncheon consists of Jerked Chicken Wings.
Approx. 2 lbs of chicken wings, 2-3 tablespoons of Dunns River Jerk Seasoning and a generous splash of lime juice.
Marinade the wings for 24 hrs and then place on a rack in a roasting pan (to let some of the fat escape) and roast for 45-50 mins at 180C (350F) (can be cooked for less time, but I like to try and get the skin crispy).

I am going to Curacao next week and cannot wait to try some of the food there. I am very interested to see how it's different from other Caribbean foods such as jerk and sous and meat pies. I'm sure there will be goat curry and a lot of African inspired foods but also the Dutch influence which I am interested in seeing. Videos and photos to come! :)

I'm in Curacao and loving it! Its all Dutchie's so it's almost like being in Holland with HOT fucking sunshine! :) found a hot little slut here to play with too so gonna have some hot photos when I return! :)
