I love good food, but often find that if you are dieting and go out that there is very little that you can get by on.
There is always the salad, but even that is not much use if you are on low carb/high protein, and even then half the time it comes with high calorie dressing.
I have been on the Dukan diet for a couple of months and lost 2 stone so far (i.e. 28lbs or abound 13Kg).
There is no need to stint on taste, though, and here are a couple of things that I cooked recently.
First is a breakfast of dill scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

This is Salmon en Papillote with courgette (zucchini), mushrooms, cherry tomato and prawns (shrimp).

Recipes for these and a few other Dukan friendly meals can be found on Miss Hybrid's forum.

Yum... I love those kinds of dishes!

How can a food thread start to turn nasty? Please don't answer this question. That's not my point. In a world that we all have something in common like eating, I would think that we could all fashion our opinions with the respect of our own individual taste buds.

I went with a woman that had a relationship with a guy that had no taste buds. He couldn't tell if it was salty, too sweet, bland, nothing. Imagine going through life like that? The only reason he ate anything was to stop the hunger feelings. Sad and frustrating that he couldn't share what we all take for granted.

There's plenty of room for fast food here. I happen to live just a few miles from the Rutgers Grease Trucks. You can look them up. From $5 to $8 you can build any sandwich you want. They will just open up a roll and pile it on. You want Middle Eastern, no problem. These little trucks do so much volume that they can't help but have everything fresh.

Awesome! I love street foods and whenever I travel I have a lot of meals at them. In New Zealand the kabobs were amazing and that's where I found out that a kabob isn't food on a stick lol I had a hot dog in Paris from a street vendor that was amazing...it's a french roll that they skewer onto a post to create a hole in the center, they put some cheese and mustard in it and then slide the weiner in seriously, amazing with a beer. In Sydney the meat pie street stands were outrageously good and in Costa Rica I made the empanada stands a regular stop, especially after a night of drinks on the way back to the condo.

Hey yes the 2 winners were already chosen and there is going to be another drawing on October 1 also!

It will not be filmed because of the permits and everything that would need to be had which takes too much time. I am trying to work with the 2 winners to coordinate a weekend when all 3 of us are available. Each winner gets their dinner on a seperate night and my schedule is not easy so it looks like it might be the first week in November where I am available and they are also so we can have back to back nights. I am really excited about it and both winners seem really cool and interesting and the girl is fucking HOT and never been with a girl sexually beyond kissing before so there might be some sexual tension at dinner I have a thing for getting the lesbo cherry so I might bend some rules for this one!

made some poached eggs this morning with proscuitto and slices of tomato and topped it with a little sauce I made from olive oil and cilantro and chili pepper. pics to come...

I diverted from the original plan and decided against the tomatoes and fried the eggs in pancetta drippings rather than poached.

so here is what I made:
fried eggs in pancetta drippings topped with prosciutto on a ciabatta toast w/olive oil topped it with some parsley, oregano and red chili pepper flakes

side of mozzarella with some hot capicola and a slice of watermelon

Washed it down with a watermelon mimosa and ate it on my dock which was really nice. but as you see, no makeup and not thrilled for photos of myself to be taken so early
