Let's see if you gun nuts still support the "Stand Your Ground" law...

Hmm... stand out there at about 800 yards while I load this Weatherby .338-.378 Mark V and we'll find out. And here, put this little beanie with a flag on your head so I can tell which way the wind is blowing.

Ready, steady... now run like a Finn with no pants on being chased by a horny, drunk Russian! :D

a 378 weatherbuy isn't enough big, check these custom made big bore rifles with calibers like the 500 nitro express or the 505 gibbs or the 600 overkill http://www.hunting-rifles.com http://www.germanguns.com http://www.johannsen-jagd.de/data_de/repetierbuechsen/05_johannsen_professional_hunter.php?navid=3

What you are not getting is that in Europe most of the bad guys don't have guns either so it isn't necessary for the people to have them. But here in the US, guns are easier to get than drugs.

And as I've said before many many times, as long as the bad guys have them, the good guys have every right to have them. I think that anyone who owns a gun should have to register it, to have a license just as you would have to register a car.

You European guys aren't getting the reality of how often guns are used in crime here.
Since 2001, the scum living in the shitty hoods in France have illegally owned AK47s and illegally owned pistols coming from the balkans and the eastern european countries. Lately there has been a lot of shoot outs, robberies and murders in France so the bad guys in France have them but the honest people can't. So one day or another, I am going to register in a gun club in order to get a firearm license and buy some very specific weapons.

I always knew that you Americans are gun crazy people.

It is your thing and guns are certainly an important part of your culture and history, but have you ever thought that your society might be much calmer and safer if you do not have those toys.

A society without guns for the honest citizens, is a society where scum prevails. I would rather have gun rights like in the USA than count on the police which is sometimes too scarred to shoot scumbags or arrest them.

I don't know who your gun chopper is but he must be one hell of a friend to be willing to undertake any type of conversion on your weapon. If he values his license he would notify the BATF that he has come into possession of an automatic weapon immediately. Fed laws make it a crime to convert a weapon to even a semi automatic state. Either the dude is operating his business with wreckless abandon or is completely ignorant of federal law.

again dude, the bad guys have them. You fucking Europeans come up with a way to get them away from all the bad guys and we'll talk more ok?

Remove guns from the good guys & bad guys at the same time? Radicle stuff but it just might work. Even better if you never had them to start with. My argument fails miserably as Mariah looks shit hot in a bikini/weapon pose.

Isn't big enough for what, Georges??? Don't fall into the fantasy that in order to take down a big game animal you need some exotic cannon that kicks like a team of mules and costs $6/round to reload. A good .300 Win. Mag will take down the majority of the big game animals in North America. And at an even greater range, a .300 Weatherby Mag will take down the rest. I got that Mark V in .338-.378 pretty much just as a vanity/showpiece - I think it's had maybe 10 rounds through it, all when I was lining up the (overpriced) Leupold scope that sets on top. For any kind of hunting that I would ever do, even that thing is overkill. My best deer rifle is an old .270 Savage 110 that I paid $150 for... including the scope. The last thing I'd get (for real hunting... not "bench hunting") is some .50 cal howitzer. That stuff is just something else to show your friends and talk about. Heart & lungs shot = dead. And there are no degrees of dead. Whether it's an elk, a moose or a grizzly, it's either dead or it isn't.

You put a round in the heart & lungs with any .30 caliber and if the animal doesn't go down, having a bigger caliber isn't your problem... you probably need a new set of eyes and fingers. ;) Speaking of which, hey, it's time for me to repost that video of Sarah P@lin trying to scare a tame caribou to death with her .243... before he dies of old age or dust inhalation from all the dirt she's kicking up around him. This is Philbert's favorite video (;)), so I'll share it with the rest of you. Look at her go... The Great White Huntress. bomp-ba-da-bomp! Dad, what should I do? Dad, does this gun thingy kick hard? Dad, how do you chamber a round? Dad, how do you make this thingy go bang? Is there like a switch or button? Dad, why isn't Mr, Caribou falling down? Dad, I'm getting tired of this. Let's play a new game. Could we just get somebody (who knows what the fuck they're doing) to make the shot (off-camera) and then I'll take the credit?

You need some head pats? Who are you sucking up to here?

Maybe it might have been shooting high, scope got knocked a bit, but as soon as she took the other hunter's rifle she did a one-shot kill.
Seems like you love this video, to give you some joy fucking denigrating a woman you don't know shit about and just join in the lowlife Bullshitters to diss her.
She isn't in office, has no power to affect anything in anyone's life, yet you keep putting yourself at the lowest level of LIb hitmen buy going after her.
Some of the lame ass idiots here can't do anything else, but you need to reread your post about your lessons learned from dear old Dad.
I doubt this is what he taught you from what you said...

Maybe give us all a financial sector lecture, you know so much about business and economic matters...you ain't hitting the high notes here.

You can reach out 1000yds with a .308, if you're good, and the conditions are just right. You don't need a cannon, just a little skill, and a little more luck. Remember, we're talking about a person, not a charging cape buffalo....and if you're being charged by one of those, you better have a .50BMG in your back pocket!

I tend to shy away from odd calibers. I like the standards...I like uniformity, and commonality. I can GUARANTEE you 2 things....
#1) If you take 10 people that no NOTHING about guns, and show them pictures, they'll pick out the .38, and the 1911
#2) If you go down your street, and go through EVERY house, you will most likely find 3 things...12ga. shotgun shells, .3bspecial bullets, and 9mm bullets.

I can appreciate the beauty of a fine Weatherby rifle...they're beautiful, but to me, they're impractical. I can get a variety of well made rifles, in .300 Win mag, or .375 H&H mag., that will drop any animal on the North American Continent, and most, in Africa. Now granted, Cape buffalo, and certain dangerous prey, like Kodiak Grizzly's aren't anything to fuck around with...but when the hunt is over, what do you do with that rifle? To me, any gun I would feel bad about dropping, and scratching up the stock on, I would rather not have. I like the working guns. Guns that you know, if shit hit the fan, and push came to shove, you could get the parts, and ammo from out of the carnage around you. I stick to standard NATO calibers, and common time tested calibers. A fucking .38 special will fuck a man up good...I don't need to turn him into soup, just stop him. And has been mentioned earlier, or in another thread, if you're past 6 rounds, you're into the spray and pray mode. You need to take a deep breath, regroup, and think about how, and where you'll be placing your rounds. Although I do carry a semi auto, that holds 12+1. To many cowboys think they've got the bases covered, because they have a 9mm with 17 rounds in it, but fail to realize, it ain't the same as a video game. When real bullets are coming at you, it's a whole different situation, and the price of poker goes up real quick, when lives are in danger.

However, given a LARGE amount of disposable income...or fuck you money, as I like to call it....DAMN RIGHT I'm buying some fancy high end shit....just because I can.

If we never had them in the first place...we would be drinking tea every fucking day at 4 o clock, and driving shitty little cars, on the wrong side of the street!

The second he takes possession of that firearm, he's committing a felony. The other thing is, there are incentives at the Federal live, for eating cheese...but then, you know that, you're a lawyer.

Hey...You know the difference between a dead dog in the road, and a dead lawyer in the road?

The skid marks in front of the dog! :D

Prosecutorial discretion is in play here. And while I have had my share of defeats, no client of mine would be charged or convicted if they reported the weapon to the proper authorities. The person could simply be unaware that it was fully automatic until they examined it and if reported I seriously doubt they would be charged. I would have to look at the federal statutes. Even after 23 years I still have to look NC statutes. I wish I had it all in my head for instant recall. You know why lawyers are buried at least 12 feet? Because deep down we're all good people.

Hells yeah! Call me the PuppetMaster, why don't you?! All it takes is finding that turnkey on his back, wind him up, point him in any direction and just watch him go!

I'm sorry, Philbert. That really was mean of me, wasn't it? Considering your adoration for Silly Sarah, I knew the affect that would have on you... but yeah, I did it anyway!

P.S.: Some "friendly" words of advice for you, Philbert: especially if you have a weak chin, never lead with it. People like me will always go for easy knock-outs. ;)

It still costs money, time, and hassles. The fact is, you may very well be a great lawyer, but you know as well as I, the judge and prosecutor might just be the biggest dicks on the planet. You can only do so much damage control. In today's climate, any excuse to remove firearms from a citizen, is going to be used. Besides, in this case, we clearly see no remorse, or attempt to do anything beyond covering up the original crime.

I see what you are saying. Believe it or not in instances where citizens are whistle blowers in situations like this the Feds are easy to work with. But if you lie to them or make them get their hands dirty they will ream you a new one. The scenario I painted I do not foresee any charges being brought toward the gunsmith. The owner of the weapon is a different story.

Wait. What?! Uh, Mariah is the owner of the weapon! Man, you sure do turn on a potential client fast, dude! Say, what are those wires under your shirt? What's it... an iPod or something? :suspicious:

This was the latest installment of Mariah's Playhouse. She does not own any such thing.
She takes a box for a stellar performance grabs her bouquet of roses. Exits stage left. Fade to black.

If your problem is criminals with guns then you have a gun problem.

Without the gun criminal is quite helpless, so you have to figure out how do you get the guns away from them.

Criminals often obtain guns from the same place as the good citizens so it might be a good idea that puplic gun shops put the doors closed.

I support the stand your ground law 100%. I live in Florida and I own guns. I have practiced and took a concealed carry permit course.

But the anti gun people need to take a look at Washington DC where guns are 100% illegal. Every bad guy knows you don't have a gun in DC and they do.

When they take away all the gun from the bad guys Ill give mine up gladly. Until you do that don't even think of taking away my right to protect myself.

read this awesome article which is exactly why we need this law!

States with tough gun laws like California have a lot more home invasions that states like Florida and Texas where people are more likely to have a gun. If you were a burglar or rapist or whatever and were going to rob someone but thought they might have a gun you'd think a little harder about doing it. If you know there's a good chance they won't have a gun then you won't hesitate.
As a "quadroon" the gun nuts allow you no firearms rights.
