Is the rep system now almost useless?

Re: rep power is lame.
To me the rep system is like kudos - it shows that your fellow forum-members appreciate you and your work (and vice-versa). On the other hand, if your posts piss people off (ie: sexism, racism) then you (deservedly imo) get neg-repped.
But while there has been genuine concern and creditable posts about improving the system, there has also been some comments that deserve to stay in a schoolyard........:2 cents:

PPS: there's already a thread on this subject (http://board.freeones.com/showthread.php?t=57435&page=6). I would ask the mods to merge both.

I guess it's also your post count, over a year and so few posts it seems like you don't participate that much. Of course, when it comes to posts, go for quality not quantity.

Would I care, no I wouldn't, because I don't care about rep. At least I don't care about the number on the screen. However I would find your little 'social experiment' a little childish and quite frankly something I would think beneath you, especially you in fact. That would be worse than bad rep in my mind. I think you care about this rep stuff too much.
If I had to make a guess I would say a lot of that has to do with your approximate .3 post a day and the few number of post in the last 7 months many of those being in the find your favorite babe section.

I have always been the type who wants to now how a thing works, not to make it work for me. I'd rather work everyday than to live in the lap of luxury. And I don't like having myself expressed by a number. I don't want anyone to come on and see my rep, becuse they start forming opinions as soon as they see my rep numbers. I want to be judged by my words and actions not an arbitray number.
I'd rather have 1 gray rep stone and no view of my post count. I want EQUALITY. That's why I want to give bad rep, so I'll recive bad rap and I can go back down to zero, were all things are equal.

First and foremost this is a porn messageboard and i think the rep points should reflect that.Rep should only be allowed to be given in the find your favourite babe, identify/name the babe, suggestions & comments and watch that video threads.Some people would lose over 90% of their rep while the harder working posters who id babes and post links in the find your favourite babe and watch that video threads will have a higher rep tally to reflect their work.

Now rep is given in my book for if you like a post,it doesn't have to contain a link for pictures or clips.It doesn't have to be for ID'ing some babe,although can be given for this.It can be given for posting a great funny picture or clip that brightend up your day.Or for a post that has really been thought out and well put in the talk section.
This is what rep is all about been a good contributing to the board.No matter what section it is in.:2 cents:

I never said just the one section of the board just the sections relating to porn like watch that video, ID's or find your favourite babe.

Now, it's common for someone you rep to rep you back, so there's a lot of back scratching going on that before didn't exist. In a way, so what? If it keeps the good mood up? I got bad rep only twice. First time I didn't know who at all and for what. The second time, I knew who did it, (di*khe*d), hah! No explaination and just thought he didn't have any clue to my sense of humor.
I'll read all the posts here when I get a chance.
