If God exists and he is omnipotent, that doesn't mean that just because he could do anything, he should. (BTW I use "he" a lot but obviously such an entity would not have a gender like us, and using "it" just sounds weird). Its like the case of a person's free will to defy God. Does this certainly mean that God cannot control a person's will and therefore is not omni-potent? No, it just means he chooses not to. Some would even say it is against his nature, since controlling a person in such a way would be considered malevolent.
So this shows there are things God will not do. Maybe by looking into the box which he created in such a way that he could not look into, the universe is destroyed. But you also have to admit, all these "Can God (blank) so that even he could not (blank)" questions are paradoxical in nature. It reminds me of the question: Can a man go back in time and kill his own grandfather? Many people would ask this and conclude since its impossible, that time travel cannot happen. To me, its inconclusive and does not suggest any sort of time travel cannot be achieved.
You may just be the smartest person on this thread. See this is the kind of thing I am looking for, intelligent philosophizing. I love when some one comes up with an intelligent argument rather than just saying.. "Your logic is the most infuriating thing I have ever seen.. I can't get around it.. but I am going to deny it anyway just because I don't like you for being so maddeningly logical! Why if I ever get my hands on you..."
See people pornophile realizes that even though he and I don't agree with each others views on this subject doesn't mean the needs to be a full scale jihad up in this thread. We can be mature and friendly while disagreeing. It is called debate. If I knew pornophile in real life I would probably ask him if he wanted to go pick uo a twelve pack and go fishing so we could talk about some of the other mysteries of life. He sounds like a very interesting person. Not sure I can say the same about you Vlad19..
Any way back to the topic, pornophile you are right, it is a paradoxical question, and it is designed to have no answer that doesn't prove my point. But it works. Whether he should not, or will not, are not part of the given equation and cant simply be added in to give relevance to them. In this particular problem there is only capable and incapable. It is mostly a rhetorical question anyway, as it has only one correct answer.
If I ever get my hands on you in real life..
Flirting will get you everywhere :lovecoupl
