I ran a search and didn't see this so....

With football (American) season right around the corner, I'd be interested to know what team you think is the greatest dynasty in NFL history. I was a huge Cowboy fan in the 90s (actually, a Jimmy Johnson fan more than anything) so I'm voting for them. Even though they didn't win quite as many Super Bowls as some others, I do think the team that Johnson assembled was, talent-wise, the greatest of all time so they get my vote.

What's yours?

Packers are my team but they havent been about to get 3 rings within 5-10 years, but i would have to say my favorite dynasty so far are the patriots followed by the 49ers

My vote goes to the Cowboys 1992-1996 teams

I'm a 49ers fan, grew up watching the Niners of the 80's, so I voted the Niners, but also I believe the Steelers of the 70's in one of the greatest dynasties as well

I agree, those are my top two as well. I voted for the niners mainly because of my age. All I have seen of the Steelers is highlight reel footage. It's hard to give a team their deserved credit if you haven't seen them play.

Detroit Lions of the 50's deserves a honorable mention...

Detroit enjoyed its greatest success in the 1950s. Led by quarterback Bobby Layne, they won the league championship in 1952, 1953, and 1957. They defeated the Cleveland Browns in each of those NFL Championship Games, but also lost to the Browns in the 1954 Championship Game.

So the 50's Browns is a non point...

Other Picks the 70's Steelers... or 80's 49ers...

Point well taken. Another team that might be considered is the Miami Dolphins of the 1970s....the only undefeated team in NFL history in addition to a couple of Super Bowl wins in consecutive years. Any 'fins fans out there care to comment?

this isnt even close. steelers in the 70's. four championships in six years. enough said. end of discussion.

and jagger, the dolphins of the 70's have another distinct record. the only team in superbowl histoy not to score a td.

The Packers also won 4 NFL titles in 6 years in the '60s.

werent two of those before the merger?

Yes, but the question revolves around NFL championships so it is irrelevant. I didn't think any real argument can be made that the AFL was the equal of the NFL until the Jets beat the Colts in Super Bowl III.

Not to belabor this since, after all, I voted for the Cowboys but it isn't the Packers' fault that a minor football league was not included in the process back when they were winning championships in the '60s. I know it is strictly speculation but I don't think it's much of a risk to say that the Packers would not have had much of a problem with the '61 Oilers.

the pats had a fairly good run of things but now that Manning has a superbowl ring after 9 yrs he is going to win a lot more in the next 5 yrs ---- Colts best future dynasty lol

1990's Cowboys, the triplets, the D and the best O line in the game.
Also the 'Boys were a very good team in the last half of the 60's, all of the 70's (damn Steelers) and the first half of the 80's. Montana was trying to throw it away but couldn't even do that right. But REALLY I'm over that now, REALLY.

Love the nineties Cowboys-but I have to say the 80's Forty-niners w/Montana were the greatest dynasty I've seen.
