English Premiership Thread 2010/11

I just hope Wolves dont go down, I love Mick McCarthy he is a decent lad

Do I sense some Irish bias there :o ps I don't think Wolves deserve to go down either, they gave my team Spurs a good game today and could easily have won, Doyle's a good player

There is some Irish bias but McCarthy is a class manager and Kevin Doyle is a brilliant player

you will rue the day u sold Robbie

He just seems past it, maybe the move to Liverpool knocked his confidence but he seemed to have no impact in games and he was predictable in everything he did. Crouch, Defoe and Pavlychenko are only marginally better and we really needed some world class strikers to complement out strong midfield. ps Why did Aidan McGeady go to Russia of all places

I don't see how the penalty shot call was missed. It was a horrendous noncall.

The Goons dodged a bullet this weekend. They could've easily been eliminated from the title chase.

I honestly don't know how we can beat Barca without Theo Walcott and Cesc. We simply must have those two. RvP would be nice, but I think Chamakh will come up big. Bentner needs to be on the bench. We need to start Eboue too because he is solid defensively and his speed can give Barca fits.

Chamakh -- Walcott (maybe?)

Nasri -- Cesc -- Song -- Eboue

Clichy -- Kos -- Djourou -- Sagna

Szczesny

Song and Walcott are both out - Cesc is a possible. Wilshire's fit, so he will start, probably in place of Song if Cesc is ok. We will need a good defence and we NEED to score at least one. It's a nail biter at this point.

I think that was a good move for McGeady, he will learn from it and he is already a fan favorite. It was better to leave Scotland he was getting all kinds of hassle in Glasgow. I would love to see him playing for Bayern Munich, he is there kind of player.
Its always better for our International team if a few players are playing outside of the premiership (English)

Just to conclude this thread Man Utd were crowned champions last weekend, followed by Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal who clinch Champions League spots whilst my time Spurs finished 5th to get the Europa league place. West Ham, Blackpool and Birmingham were relegated in one of the most tense relegation battles ever. We can carry on this thread to discuss summer transfers and the run-up to the next season.

A most disappointing season. Arsenal just failed to take their chances and finished the season with rather a whimper. We need better defence and another good striker - someone that can actually find the back of the net.

Watched Manchester U. v. Newcastle yestereday. Wow! What a match!

If some of these dumbasses around here that bash the game as "boring" and actually watched a match like that, I think they might change their tune a bit. One of the most exciting matches I've ever seen, and I usually only watch my national team and the World Cup.

Superb stuff.

It's always nice to see some Americans appreciate football or as you guys call it soccer. :D
