I hope that this doesn't offend too many people!

I noticed a thread for the five best/worst towns or cities in America, but I wanted to find out which are the worst towns or cities that you've actually visited or lived in worldwide.

Here are my thoughts:

Luton (England)
Romford (England)
Coventry (England)
Setat (Morocco)
Calais (France)

So, for whatever reason(s) let's hear what your Crap Towns are.

I wouldn't limit to just Romford. Daganam sucks. Essex and the majority of the SE I think is a shit hole.

Then there is Leigh, Milton Meyens, Birmingham, plenty of places.

I couldn't find the American thread....so I'll put my best/worst here

just out of curiosity, is this your opinion or a national census? and if it is yours alone, have u been to all those cities?

oh oh, good call on fresno, but dont forget bakersfield. yuck!

My opinion only. Generally, Austin-TX, Raleigh North Carolina, Dallas TX, Boston MA come up in National polls. I've visited Ausin, TX once and wasn't impressed at all. Boston is great but cold...and summer ends quickly....

I've lived in a few places on my list but visited every one atleast.

I like your list Titsrock but you put Memphis on the wrong list the only thing we have is Beale Street and after two visit it sucks the crime is high both mayors are RETARTED and the City of Memphis work force is sad the only good thing I can say is we are Seven days in the new year and no one has been murdered In other words this city SUCKS I'm moving back to Mississippi.

Yeah, Dagenham is crap, you're right. I can also see why people don't like Milton Keynes, but I take issue with Birmingham - the Jewellery Quarter and the new Bullring development are pretty good IMO.

I've visited Austin, TX once and wasn't impressed at all.

Next time you come to Texas let me know t-rock. I'll show you the Austin everyone falls in love with....awesome town in many, many ways.

As far as "bad" towns, the places listed so far are limp-dick compared to these offerings:

East St. Louis, IL
Watts, CA
Camden, NJ
Gary, IN
Flint, MI
The Bronx, NY
Texas City, TX
Hialeah, FL
Roxbury, MA
N. Little Rock, AR
Sulphur, LA

That's just a start. Anyone who's been to these places knows what I am talking about.

Middlesborough
what a dump
Goole,if there was a shithole at the centre of the universe, this place is it

:p Agreed. Any area that makes Romford look good has got to be a proper shithole. Still, by 2012, I think it'll probably have changed a lot.

I thought it was Wansted or Stratford getting all the redevelopment? :dunno: I suppose some of that might spill over to good old Leytonstone, Oh how I dread going back there . . . .
