Crap Towns

As far as "bad" towns, the places listed so far are limp-dick compared to these offerings:

East St. Louis, IL
Watts, CA
Camden, NJ
Gary, IN
The Bronx, NY
N. Little Rock, AR

That's just a start. Anyone who's been to these places knows what I am talking about.

I know what you are talking about Jagger, I've been to them as well. I drove through East St. Louis, IL and it is a complete shit hole! I thought I was in Haiti. Gary Indiana is just an armpit. I have a few to add to this distinguished list: Joliet-IL, Worth-IL, Hammond-IN, East Chicago-IN, they make Camden, Elizabeth and Newark look middle class [which doesn't say much].

Anyone driving on I-80 in Northwest Indiana, don't get off except to get gas.

I will take you up on that. I think the Big Cities of Texas would draw me--Dallas or Houston. Dallas has the job growth rep and a growing tech rep and c'mon--it's the chestiest part of Texas, right?:thumbsup:

I would consider Watts part of LA, Roxbury part of Boston and Bronx part of Manhattan. Boston, LA, Chicago, New York are great vacation spots, great social spots, but actually living in any of them I think is tough.

The thing for me is that I've always been partial/biased toward Cali, but I've been to Florida/Tampa a couple of times over the past 4 years and I gotta say FL beaches pwn Cali beaches....it's true. Obviously if you surf then Cali wins, but if you don't, FL wins.

I haven't been/visited to Seattle or New Orleans so I could put either place on the Best/Worst list if I ever get to them....

Little Rock seemed kind of small to me when I visited there.

I prefer Memphis to Nashville. Better BBQ.

Windsor, Ontario is a complete shithole.

I don't think any city that close to Detroit can help but be brought down by it. I can't think of one redeeming thing to say about Detroit, and it might be the all around worse place in the country.

Gary, In. is also a complete cesspool and has been high up on the list of worst cities in the US for a long time now.

• Richmond, Ca. An oil refining center in the East Bay Area which is home to many a shanty homes. Drug dealing & gang warfare are the rule ! South American Illegal aliens and Black Americans are killing each other nearly every day in this extremely low income community. The Richmond cops are running scared and sparce so the Fed has to bring in special I.C.E squads to disrupt the violence.

If I recall correctly, Richmond Calif. has amongst the highest murder rates in the nation, per capita. People are shot and killed for no apparent reason quite often. This is a place you don't want to find yourself ! Better look at the ground and only the ground if you do !

You've basically hit upon the problem with California statewide...it's falling apart and becoming a a giant shithole.

If you drive the California side of the I80 it is a pothole-ridden embarrassment. It's so LOUD that it's like driving with your fingernails scraping down a chalkboard. That sound X100.

If you go to the Nevada side of the I80...clean and new road like an ice skating rink.

The problem being--California is a bankrupt state and can't afford it's wear and tear anymore...not without addressing revenue, in the form of taxes and that sends every Californian into a full-throated roar....

Sad, really.
