Trump thinks he should (i) be declared the rightful winner of 2020 or (ii) get a re-do. I find it hard to believe he even believes what he's saying. Is anyone buying the bullshit or drinking the Kool-aid?

Hey gmase, your opinion... do you think Trump truly believes the election results were fraudulent at this point in time or is he just using an legion of gullible patsies to position himself better for next time? He's a carny like Vince McMahon and sometimes reality and illusion is hard to differ. I can't answer my own question though but would like another person's objective opinion.

I know. I guess it's hard to speculate. A little mind-reading is needed and I'm not capable of that either. To some people politics is religion and they turn public servants into religious icons as long as they voted for them.

I believe (with little confidence) he knows he lost. Admitting it would destroy his narrative.

I am slightly more confident in my belief that he does not think he could be declared the winner or have a do-over election. That is where he is trying to use the gullible patsies to raise campaign donations.

He is a demagogue, but ‘carny’ would also apply to him. His show is dependent upon doubling down on the lie.

It is easy to speculate.

The history of politics is my religion. We have seen people like Trump before (e.g., McCarthy, Nixon) and we will see them again. It is difficult to be living through something now which will become clearer in 50 years. Watergate looks different today than it did in August 1974.

Just like the collapse of the USSR feels a bit different today than 30 years ago.

I'm curious about your opinion on this. So basically, he knows he lost and that he's not going back to the White House, but figures this is a good chance to make a quick buck before he fades into political obscurity?

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree. But my question is: Do you feel he legitimately doesn't see the risk in frauding legions of fanatics who have literally shown they will take up arms and die fighting against those who piss them off? That's a risk someone would have to be unfathomably dumb not to understand.

Also a fun hypothetical:

Let's say that trump does make millions to fund his "return", only for it to come out that he used the money for his own personal gain. The legions of fanatics turn on him, and gather outside Mar a lago, Jan6-style. What do you think everyone's reaction would be? POTUS? The GOP? National Guard/Florida law enforcement?

As long as we're willing to speculate and still have our crystal ball out do you care to go on record predicting the outcome of the Trump FBI investigation? Are they going to lock him up or no? To be honest I'm not as familiar as I should be about specific details. Anyone, and I mean anyone, whether I voted for them or not, if they betray America, they should have a bullet put in their head. I'm taking a wait and see on this one letting the chips fall where they may.

I doubt he will see jail time. How many has the frenzy built up before fizzling at the end? No need to get excited.

That's pretty sound. I'm not sticking my neck out either. I'm from the land of wacky court cases and stopped trying to predict things after OJ. I sound more intelligent when I keep my mouth closed sometimes... maybe usually. Depends. Some lawyers are great sorcerers in front of judges who drink too much.

The history of politics is my religion.

I watch professional wrestling religiously and that's where my spirituality comes from. Politics and wrestling are both circuses using deception to confuse and divide the gullible marks separating the crowd into two groups who are always at odds while the entire locker room, both heels and faces, laugh behind their backs enjoying the money they convinced them to surrender.

He knows he can't go back based on anything from 2020. The funds would be used for 2024.

His risk assessments seem to be rather erratic. He will be guarded by world-class security teams for the rest of his life and there will always be someone else to blame.

I would hope they provide the necessary defense for him.

Quite amazing how pro-wrestling can be used as a perfect analogy for practically any social/economic/moral/legal/pollical/etc issue.

So Donald Trump's attorneys want a Special Master appointed?

If they have enough pictures of Stormy Daniels lying around ...

... then we all can become the Special Masturbators. Hehe.

Trump says he will 'very, very seriously' consider January 6 pardons if he runs and wins in 2024

Fuck. Right. Off.

Please tell me that even the simplest of Maga supporters aren't buying this shit.
"Very, very seriously consider"? Could you get any less committal as a politician?
And more to the point, who is going to believe you when didn't pardon them when you had the chance?:facepalm:

You watch. Donald Trump will create a "defense fund" to help the January 6, 2021 insurgents who have cases pending. He'll collect about ten million from his supporters .. Next, he'll have Marjorie Taylor-Greene run it. (Hey since she has nothing to do in the House anyway. As Pelosi and crew took away all of her committee appointments) Then Donald Trump and Steve Bannon will raid the fund. Clean out the accounts. And leave Marjorie Taylor Greene holding the bag. *click* as those jail cell doors will close behind her. Expect ten years in prison for the Loudmouth from Georgia.

Except everyone in his "inner circle" has been smart enough to jump ship before he has a chance to throw them under the bus. And get a book deal in the process.
