It's time to face the truth: That was pure luck! The British football is totally overrated - yes ok fine, you've invented the game and you won one international title 40 years ago - by the way: With two irregular goals! But even the best theoretical reputation is worthless if you can't proof it whenever it's necessary. Instead of a sovereign performance of fine football art, your team delivered only poor excuses and the claim that they could play better ... maybe when they are in the right mood or without the heat or the opponents. Their game seems to be a weak adoption of the german strategy during the WC 2002. Just stay in there without any greater effort and gain time to reach the finals. However this time it won't work because they don't have the lottery luck on their side: In the next rounds they will face Portugal and Brazil and it's not very likely that they will survive these clashes. And even if they're comming through - against all chances - they will suffer their personal Wurst-Bier-Sauerkraut-Lederhosen-Blitzkrieg-nightmare against Germany.
It's time to say Goodbye England! :wave2: Sorry mates, I think that's the curse of Wembley.
The thing is the draw was on their side: They got possibly the easiest group )maybe except Gorup A), they got the weakest team to qualify to the second round and now they are getting Portugal without Costinha and, most importantly, without Deco. It's amazing that England CAN get to the Semi-Final WITHOUT ONE DECENT GAME.
I'm not sure what's Brazil's draw is but it is possible that they'd get knocked out in the quarter finals and England will somehow manage to beat whoever beat them and maybe, just maybe, they will win the cup while sucking.
I consider myself objective since I'm a fan of Italy and good football (I know it clashes :1orglaugh ), before this cup I didn't care for Germany much but they play well so I like them, I've never seen Ivory Coast but they played well so I like them.
