Cheese!

I like double cream brie or camembert, occasionally a blue variety of those. Muenster, havarti and provolone are great on sandwiches, swiss also has its place, pepper and marble jack on a platter with some nice smallgoods, and last but not least, good old cottage cheese on a spoon.

I love cheese and I alternate favorites but right now it has to be Caciocavallo, which is like Mozzarella but with a tad more bite....it's THE best melting cheese there is as far as i'm concerned.

I learned about about from Mario Batali on TV a few years ago (it's originally from Sicily) and fell in love with it. It might be more expensive than crappy Mozzarella but less is more when it comes to good cheeses.

Munster, Provolone,Mozzarella also day-licious.
One thing that sucks for me is where I live the quality of cheese and lunch meat like salami, pepperoni, turkey , ham , roast beef, ect sucks and is like triple the price of the U.S. So I havn't had a descent sandwich in a long time.:crying:

Why does Swiss Cheese have holes?
Put simply, during the manufacturing process the particular bacteria that produces the flavor and texture of the cheese also produces carbon dioxide gas as a by product, and these bubbles of gas produce the holes.

It's not the most exciting answer, but I like sharp cheddar the best. Once in a while I will also eat some pepper jack or other types of peeper cheese. The problem with those is it's almost impossible to find any that has more than just a hint of the hot pepper flavor in it around here.

If there's sharp cheddar, then where's the dull cheddar? Yuk yuk yuk!

If there's brick cheese, where's the mortar cheese? Get it? Brick and mortar!!

In France I had some of the Camembert cheese. Absolutely out of this world good.

American chedder! Man I miss it! You'd think living in the middle of cheese country I'd be happy with what I can find. But nope, I like american chedder. It melts soooo well. :)

I also like pepperjack but of course can't get it here. And kraft. I found some kraft mac and cheese in the American food store and thought I was in heaven. :1orglaugh

I tried some nettle gouda the other day. Really strange eating something that if I touch it I can end up in the hospital.......
