BP's top kill effort fails to plug Gulf oil leak

I think some sweethearts first should try to read a map before talkin bullshit ....lol :hatsoff::rofl:

Yup, especially the Swiss coast-guard, the have such a nice coast and fiiinee sand-beaches ....:angels:

How dare you. The Swiss navy is the best in the world

ooopppss. ... I forgot : they got some rowing-boaties in the Bodensee - lake . :D

Okay, this is pathetic ...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...eek-despite-ongoing-Gulf-Mexico-disaster.html

This bastard is takin a sailboat-race instead of working 24/7
to get the problem fixed. They should put him into JAIL !!:mad:
Okay, sorry, gotta say something here, this is just pathetic.

The guy has been working the problem 24x7. He has been for several months. I'm sure his family is quite pissed off. So, he "saves the day" with this family for this one.

It's an annual event for his family, one that costs him 6 figures easily to prepare the boat, which he co-owns. He's not part of the race, it's against regulation. He watches from the shore, with his family. It's a day they enjoy. Let them have it for once.

Be pissed off all you want about the spill. Blame him for all I care. But give the guy several hours with his family every few months. After all, if you think he should be in jail, then give him a few more hours with his family before he goes. Remember, he doesn't get to see his family much lately (even fishermen/women in the gulf have that, even if they're not out sailing).

Sorry, but this is one of the most pathetic things I've seen in the media as of late. He wasn't kidding when he said "he wants his life back" (understand the British language barrier in his statements, even most of the British media are with him on that one). He got it for just a few hours, let him have it.

This is just as pathetic as when the President goes to Camp David, and people jump all over him. If you don't think the phone is ringing and he's being bothered at the event, you obviously have never run a multi-billion dollar corporation, or a country for that matter. Again, this is so petty.

Like Hayward said a while back "he wants his life back" ,so I guess he has it now.Bet the relatives of the 11 people killed on that rig as well as the people of the gulf would like their lives back as well. But those 11 will never see their familys again and the people of the gulf lives will not be the same for a long time if ever.

While he and his yachting may not be very important it is just another PR blunder from a company that seems to be pretty inept at PR.

Prof...you're so wrong on too many levels.

Could there ever be a yacht race in the Gulf now thanks to the BP asshole? Don't you get how bad it looks to be drinking champagne with the British aristocrats while the American blue collar fisherman burns...all because of his own company's mistakes?

President Bush wisely stopped playing golf when he sent troops into the Middle East. How many times have you seen Obama play golf since he took office?

Yes, there very much could! Obviously you guys don't know much about the Gulf of Mexico. There are plenty of things on-going in the Gulf of Mexico. I swam in it just the other day myself, sun coast of Florida.

That is what is really getting to me. People want BP to pay for more than the damage actually caused. People are not coming to Florida not because there is actual oil, but because they fear there is oil on the beach. I don't think BP should have to pay for American stupidity. I think BP should only have to pay for actual damage, actual lost wages and actual lost revenue where there is actually oil. That's all.

40% of BP shareholders are American, and most of them, just like the British, are not millionaires.

Ummm, so golf is for aristocrats? And Obama is not for not playing? Honestly. Seriously. I do not play golf (never have) but even I don't think it's for aristocrats.

Listen ... if I co-owned a multi-million dollar, professional racing yacht, spent nearly 6 figures/year to enter it in a race, and spent a few hours with my family and close friends for it ... I wouldn't miss it. Give the guy a few hours off to spend with his family.

It's easy to dismiss this guy as a multi-millionaire out-of-touch with reality. Sorry, you'd be surprised just how Joe some executives are sometimes. He took a day with his family, that happened to be part of a yacht race he helps fund. It was a family day. That's all it was.

Focus on the actual damage going on, not the "eat the rich" bullshit petty crap. Just more reason why I really don't give a flying fuck what the media and people who watch it think. I have a business to run, just like him.

:cool:That was just the other day. You don't need to destroy the entire gulf region....enough can do.

100K bbls per day and still going. How do you know what the real cost or damage will be when they haven't even stopped the thing from gushing?

Good and bad PR moves are always your choice.

I was responding to the context of titsrock. 9 out of 10 people I talk to don't know shit about the Gulf. If people want to be rabid, they should at least be accurate with their facts.

It's that type of ignorance that is hurting Florida more than the actual spill. People should really consider what false gossip generates. It hurts real people, and BP -- while we can blame them for many things -- should not be blamed for that rabid non-sense.

The real costs will be major for the region. It's going to be worse for the US Gulf than the '79-'80 Mexican platform blowout. I never said otherwise.

Good and bad PR moves are always your choice.
But making something into what it is not is hardly "PR." This was no different than a family picnic. But one says "yacht" and people get all sorts of "eat the rich" attitudes.

Without looking at the facts.

Then again, that's what the majority of Americans do when they watch the media. They don't care about facts. They think what they want to think, and ignore reality. And that's why were so fucked in this country.

"caused"? Last I checked...that's an unknown and may not be known for some time. It's likely BP with some understanding of how much damage this actually causes jumped at this settlement. If it causes more would you be in favor of them still shouldering the actual cost burden?

In the world of PR people could accurately appraise the facts and still have a negative impression of the image you convey. How does it matter? Some people answer to a board and shareholders who could think the move was sufficiently bad publicity on their publicly traded company to be forced by public sentiment to act.

As a business man/woman, that's why you would care about the PR (public relations) irrespective of the facts as you see them.:2 cents:

Who gives a shit about a little bit of oil on the other side of the world :D

Its degradable , in time it will disappear , jeez what is the problem? :dunno:

I don´t think it´s required to report DUMBAZZES , the speak for themselves .

Ahh, Prof. I'll just ask you one question. Do most sports have private clubs that exclude people based on race and income?

Would it surprise you to learn that Golf and Yachting have many such places (Clubs/Courses) from ancient America days to the present?

Gee, wasn't it that place in Augusta, GA that had all that flak recently with letting people other than rich, old white men join?

Could you point me to the nearest public Yacht Club? I'd like to join

You accuse people of not knowing the facts and yet your own frothy-mouthed responses routinely lack "real world applicability" and rely on paranoia-obscured-by-false-science :yesyes:
