Assassin Creed III

Without giving away too many spoilers: Sometime in the first 3rd of the game you will become Connor (the guy on the cover and in all the ads), a Native American who is equipped with a tomahawk from the start. I'd recommend just playing through until at least this part because its when the game really starts to take off story wise, and it opens up a lot of non-story things to do (naval missions, homestead missions, faction challenges, hunting challenges, liberation missions, etc) that are fun, and give you plenty of reason to take your time with the main story.

ok. i should stop asking and just play.

Rope Darts are awesome. One the best games I've played.

I don't understand why the Hickey chase is being made easier in the upcoming patch, and why so many people complained about it in the first place?
If you know the right way, it isn't very difficult at all I think.

It was a pain in the ass for me, but I don't see why they'd need to patch it. Games used to be hard...

I'm on the mission right now and the chase it self isn't hard but the optional 100% sync mission is frustrating. You're not supposed to shove or tackle anyone, which if you know the alley way then you'll be fine. However, the game says I fail when ever I try to grab Hickey. How else are you supposed to do it? Now, because I grabbed him, I can't go back to the checkpoint. I have to start the whole sequence 8 over again.

Were you tackling him from behind every time? The first time it failed me I hit him from the front, then I waited for him to go past me the second time before tackling and it worked, not sure if it was just luck.

leave work early today for a 4 day Holiday weekend.... i cannot wait to have time to play ACIII and really get into this game. i also have Hitman absolution,Medal of honor warfighter when do i have time to play all these games?

Every time it failed, I was tackling Hickey from behind. It finally worked when I tackled him while he was charging me. Then of course I had the joy of trying to protect a certain someone (name withheld for spoilers) from Hickey and trying to kill 2 enemy militia. Finally got it after many resets and a particular strategy.:brick:

Was it jumping into him to make him attack you? Otherwise it was pretty hard.

I think I reached full sync in the most anti-climactic way...standing around waiting for a recruit to reach assassin rank flylicker

I don't know.:dunno: I just tackled him while he was charging towards me out of an alley and it finally clicked. The other times I let him pass me and tried to tackle him that way.

Sorry I was talking about the second part with the milita. The jumping thing makes it a lot easier but I guess it is kinda cheap. Were you able to do it just getting everything done quickly enough?

Oh, what I did was chase down Hickey and tackled him at the steps. By the time he reaches the steps, two militia men will have followed you. Every time Hickey got up, I just kept guard breaking him being careful not to kill him, this also keeps his focus on you instead of the guards. It gives you just enough time to kill the 2 two militia men. What it doesn't tell you though is that only one of the 2 guards have to survive, so if one dies then you're still good.

Ahhh...the joys of escort quest and the similar variants to them. I just wish video games would never put them in anymore. In the history of video games all they have done is piss people off.

is it just me or does everyone have a "camera" issue after defeating a marching troop of redcoats?
after i defeat them all, my camera gets stuck in a locked position where i cannot look around for about 12-15 seconds (maybe a little less) but i have to wait to be able to look around with a "free" camera view for the dead bodies to loot them.

Also, i am near a fort and there is an abandoned church type building with no windows in it and a male and female character tending to "injured"? civilians/people and the woman is an "enemy" on my radar but when i walk into this building i cannot attack her. is this a glitch? i pulled my weapons and the people ran from the building and i followed her and used my bow&arrow on her and a message came up saying "your ancestors did not kill civilians"! but she was a red dot on my radar!!?

I don't know about the enemy thing but I get the camera thing every now and then. If the camera gets a weird angle, I just hit left trigger (XBOX controller) and then hit it again to fix it.

so when you take over a fort and put up the american flag....the patriots who take over the fort are still red dots on your radar and considered "enemies"....but since you (the character) are a native american ...ANYONE other than your people would technically be the enemy. i don't fight the patriots after taking control of a fort. smart move right?

i noticed the last 2 days while driving to work.... and seeing the downed trees on the sides of the highways from hurricane sandy .... i look at the trees different like the character in ACIII. i look at the branches and try to see if it's possible to go from tree to tree and what branches i would use!!

i also am looking at the piles of leaves on the curbs in front of houses different also... like "i wonder if there is someone hiding in there" .... or "can i hide in there to make an escape?":facepalm:
